  • Apple Music links shifting away from iTunes domain, further signaling death of app

This wouldn’t be concerning to people if Music wasn’t 10x worse than iTunes.
    Vox is a great alternative.
What are you talking about? Both music & iTunes are fine.
No they aren't. Music is awkward as all hell, and iTunes is in such rough shape Apple is putting it out of its misery.
For those who think it's fine... you've just grown accustomed to them. Try some others so you can at least be objective.

Well, in my objective outlook, Music was awkward when they first introduced it. I hated it. I cancelled after four months. Music was a bunch of people who sat around a table who decided to cram as much features into the app without talking to the UI designers, and then finally let designers hired on Fiverr to take care of the rest.

But it has much improved, it’s very easy to work with. I don’t need to think about how to use the software, I just listen to what I want.

  • Tim Cook says $30M Carnegie Library Apple Store is more than about selling iPhones

    This is just weird...

Apple must have to much money to know what to do with.

You can get classes at regular Apple Stores...

If you want to attract customers through education, why not give lectures at a university campus.
First, it’s going to become a regular Apple Store despite the architecture. And it’s all about branding. It means more to the consumer when they listen to an Apple employee giving Apple lectures in an Apple store in a highly restored building. How does that compare to a lecture in a class on campus that’s generally not open to the public?

And they also want to connect to the best and brightest in this college town who will evangelize Apple products to their affluent, highly-educated circle. I bet there’s going to be a hundred selfies a day from that store in Instagram and Facebook posts.

Despite what Cook says, they’ll make profit. I’m sure sales figures from their crowded, smaller store in that area reflects that. They’re not stupid. The reason they make their billions is because they watch every single penny they spend.

  • Parental control apps clap back at Apple statement on MDM technology

I mean, why do we have the First Amendment
First Amendment? Are the companies you are defending here based in the US? E.g., is Kaspersky Labs based in the US or Russia? Does the First Amendment or any US Constitutional Amendment cover or protect foreign companies? Are you really using the First Amendment of the US to defend companies that are based in communist nations to invade US citizens' privacy? To be honest I also have trouble with Apple using this logic to defend selling security products to hostile nations. I'm not even an American and I'm offended by your logic.
Haha! What!?! First, I disagree with the companies on this issue and I said so. Reread. I was making the comment about the wasting money and time in the court system, when you should just take care of it in a few days in public discussion.

but hey, that’s alright, we all get into tirades. I know I’ve done it.

If they have a case then let them sue Apple and see. Looks to me like they’re just trying to pressure Apple through public opinion.
Well, uh, yeah, considering the number of cases before the courts and the amount of money small companies would have to spend to sue Apple. I'm not in favor of their position, but you cannot just use the usual, "then just sue them" as a simple way to negate a point of view. And public opinion is not a bad way to settle issues. I mean, why do we have the First Amendment and these forums?

  • Editorial: Intel CPU constraints are sign on the road to ARM chips in the Mac

Steve Jobs explained (biography) why Intel lost over ARM For iOS hardware:

“At the high-performance end, Intel is the best. They build the fastest chip, if you don’t care about power and cost. But they build just the processor on one chip, so it takes a lot of other parts. Our A4 has the processor and the graphics, mobile operating system, and memory control all in the chip. We tried to help Intel, but they don’t listen much. We’ve been telling them for years that their graphics suck. Every quarter we schedule a meeting with me and our top three guys and Paul Otellini. At the beginning, we were doing wonderful things together. They wanted this big joint project to do chips for future iPhones. There were two reasons we didn’t go with them. One was that they are just really slow. They’re like a steamship, not very flexible. We’re used to going pretty fast. Second is that we just didn’t want to teach them everything, which they could go and sell to our competitors.”

The problem with Intel seems to go farther back, earlier than 5G.
