Facing 'sluggish sales,' Apple said to continue reduced iPhone production through June quarter
I think more and more people are just hanging on to their phones these days, and not upgrading so often. I bought a new unlocked Moto G for my mother in law for under £130 and she loves it. She can easily make calls, take photos, access her email, Facebook and send WhatsApp messages. All her photos get backed up to Google Photos and Facebook, what else does she need, what else do most people need.
You don't need to spend much to get a lot these days. -

Review: Apple's 9.7" iPad Pro is professional-grade, powerful & pricey
People who buy these are "Tablet lovers who want more input options from Apple's iPad. Artists and note takers. Cutting edge early adopters. "
Seems a very niche product to me, and there is only so far you can push a touchscreen with a mobile OS.
Apple are spinning on their hardware wondering where to take it next, when they should be concentrating on their software. The future is software, that controls the market, and Google is the one that is making all our lives easier not just those who can afford Apple device's. -
iPhone SE generating low traffic at Apple Stores, in line with predictions, analyst says
What the story is eluding too is their is no excitement in the smartphone market anymore, or in the tablet market for that matter either. The iPhone 7 will have a better CPU, better camera blah blah, who really gives a monkey anymore, the Facebook app will still look the same on it as will your email, why upgrade unless you've got money to burn?
