  • Kuo: iPhone 11 & Pro having strong launch, Apple will sell 75M iPhones in 2019

But, wait ... I thought this year's iPhone was just iterative, not "innovative" enough, and Apple was doomed to failure? What Universe is this????

And I thought that Apple's design choice for the cameras were too fugly??? Seriously, I'm confused! Who is buying these amazing, fast, powerful, capable phones???
The same analysts that are downgrading the stock I suspect.
    Buying opportunity.
Can anyone tell me why Forbes seems to have such a particular grudge against Apple?

They literally publish negative stories seven days a week most of the time - all predicting doom for the company and its products.

It's comically bizarre that they maintain a strong readership despite almost never being right.

But I have been wondering about the genesis of their super slant. It just seems more than only a click bait journalistic thing....  ....did Steve Jobs once say something nasty about the publisher or what....???

  • Apple TV+ 'Dickinson' not shying away from sex in NYC premiere

What the hell. I'll bite and be interested.

But then I'm a poet, which is not exactly a prime AI or mass TV audience demographic, and I'm a fan of classic women writers (Dickinson, Jane Austen, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Charlotte Bronte, George Sand [Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin], Virginia Woolf, Mary Shelley, et al.

And what fans aren't biased in some ways...??

So yeah, if I get the service (buying new gear soon I hope), this will be probably my first watch.

  • First iPhone 11 Night mode photos demonstrate Apple's illuminating camera tech

Thinking about "pro" users, it would be "pro-er" if we're able to not just turn the feature on and off, but to specify and dial in the degree of the effect.

Fingers crossed since I'm getting one.

I'm constantly adjusting exposure, highlights, blacks and shadows in post already. And it's more difficult with low light pix.....

  • New 16-inch MacBook Pro rumored to fit screen in current 15-inch case

Why is it that an iPhone XS is $999 and an iPhone XS Max is $1099, yet a 13” MacBook Pro is $1300 and a 16” MacBook Pro is $3200.

I have never understood why Apple needs a bigger screen to have a $1100 to $1900 premium on a laptop (85% to 146% markup), while it only needs to be a 10% markup on a phone. It’s like saying a Toyota Yaris starts at $13,000 and the next size up Corolla starts at $24,000 to $32,000. Since when is a slightly bigger version only for the most privileged? Maybe when you start giving dividends to the most privileged, who knows.
That $1,300 13" MacBook Pro has a smaller screen, a 4-core i5, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Intel Iris Plus Graphics, and 2 TB Ports.

    At a $1,000 difference, a $2,300 15" MacBook Pro has a larger screen, AND a 6-core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Radeon Pro 555X Graphics, and 4 TB Ports.

Seems to me you're getting just a little bit more than a larger screen for your "markup".
That's true.   It's also kind of a shame because some people want the screen without all the other stuff.   All they want to do is work on their spreadsheet.
Hence OS support for external monitors. Get a very decent 25" 4K for maybe $400.

  • Apple CEO Tim Cook rips into 'absurd' Wall Street Journal report on Jony Ive's departure

WSJ and Bloomberg always seem to have an axe to grind with Apple. NYT too. One would think the NYC financial sector doesn’t like Apple for not playing their games and refusing to manage to the stock price... That management style, of maximizing stockholder value, is aka The Dumbest Idea In the World:

    Here's another: https://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-warren-shareholder-myth-20180816-story.html
It truly is a dumb idea and is directly responsible for a lot of corporate misbehavior and bad judgement.
I find Forbes is the worst. They have click bait articles about supposedly major problems cropping up with existing or rumored iPhones (and other Apple devices, but they seem to specialize in phone rumors). If a fraction were true, Apple would have been out of business years ago.
