Apple Mac perceived as easier to use, more secure than Windows among IT departments
Well DUUUUHHH!!! You don’t say! I’ve been trying to tell every company I’ve worked for over the last 20 years this same thing but NOOOOOO.....”Windows, Windows, Windows” Even after I don’t even know how many issues. One company even distributed Android tablets to employees!! Ugh! EVERYONE had some kind of issue converting over. They HATED them. And I just sat back and said, “I told you so.” Why do most business people shut down as soon as they hear the word “Macintosh?” -
Restarting your device resets default mail, browser settings in iOS 14
Yea, a good friend of mine is having MAAAAJOOR problems with iOS 14 and she has a new iPhone 11. She advised me to hold off on updating. I was already going to. I usually upgrade on day 1, but something told me to hold off on this one. My auto update setting is always off anyway. I like to have control of when to upgrade my devices. -
A decade of iPads: The 2010 iPad versus the 2020 iPad & new iPad Air
rare comment said:This (and my story is basically the same) is exactly why iPad sales numbers look low (compared to the biggest hit product of all time, to be clear, not compared to regular products) and yet is so successful. They last, they remain useful over years, and they are used regularly. Trading upgrades for happier customers is the right strategy to build a durable business and it's why there isn't a tablet market, only an iPad market. That said, I think we now have owned 10 as iPad's trade-in value is also high and so makes upgrading more feasible. My only wish - that the mini would get refreshed more frequently.I don’t know if it makes a difference anymore with these batteries or if I’ve just been super lucky, but I have always waited til I get down to 1% before charging it back to 100%. It’s a little OCD, I know, but I’m sure it helps a little. I never “top it off” from like 35% I always charge from 1-100% and they all STILL last at least the 10 hours they are advertised. Even the old 1st gen! So maybe it helps. Who knows. I plan to use this 2nd gen Pro for at least the next 4-5 years.I do like the Mini. I bought one for a girlfriend when the very first one came out and she loved it! She says she still has it to this day and uses it to shop. I found it too small for me, though. I was already used to the 9.7”. But I agree, they really do need to pay more attention to it. They’ve been too hyper-focused on the Pro’s lately. -
A decade of iPads: The 2010 iPad versus the 2020 iPad & new iPad Air
I still have my 1st gen iPad and it STILL works. I fire it up from time to time just to make sure the battery doesn’t die out permanently. I also still have my iPad 2 and it still works. I skipped the 3 and glad I did cause the 4 was only 6 months behind. But then I’m glad I didn’t get the 4 on day one cause I was able to pick up the 128gb version mid-cycle. It still works, too. I got the 1st gen Air but didn’t like the AIR gap under the screen. It made it feel plasticky. So I traded that one in for the Air 2. I’ll never get another non-laminated screen iPad. I just upgraded to the 10.5” Pro from that Air 2 a month or so ago. Unless I can get great money for these things, I’m just gonna hang onto all of them. -
Best Buy customers get 6 months of Apple Fitness+ free with Apple Watch purchase [u]
I’m definitely getting the Series 6 and would love to try that Fitness+ program. AND...I do have a Best Buy card! So this is excellent news for me. But I have a question. I wonder if I would have to wait till Apple releases the Fitness+ program to buy the watch or can I buy it on Friday and when Fitness+ becomes available, I’ll be able to sign up then?
