  • Rumor: 'iPhone SE 2' to debut in September with TrueDepth camera

I'm starting to prepare for a new phone. I think I'll buy the one with the best camera.
I've had a 6+ since it came out. Would like it smaller, to be honest. I think the SE form factor is great.

  • Apple exploring use of eye-tracking technology in VR and AR headsets

Firing IR into the eyes sounds a bit scary. But perhaps there is a safe level which the eyes can withstand without taking any damage over time. It just sounds a bit scary..

The Magic Leap headset pictured in the article is the only headset so far that I've seen that actually looks like something you might wanna use for an extended period of time. Not in the streets, I think.. but for creative production. Looks pretty cool and comfy.

To take AR to the streets though.. such a huge undertaking.. Such a massive amount of technology going into something so light weight, unintrusive, and low powered..

  • Analyst's 'iPhone X is dead' memo hyperbolic, loaded with questionable claims

Perhaps all notch phones will be one-year models until the notch has gotten as small as it can get?
It IS expensive though.. But wow I've seen the X in so many people's hands in the open, so I'm having a real hard time reading too much into this report.

But I fit into the description though. Too expensive for me to have a good enough reason to buy it. I'm also awaiting a next gen on board camera.

  • Kuo: Apple losing AR lead to low-cost competitors, lack of software innovation to blame

I think AR needs glasses to truly be interesting. Anything up until that feels to me more like research for the real deal.
Sure, there are probably applications where it can still be useful on a phone, but I think when the lightweight AR glasses start to arrive, that's when we'll see how well it works. Magic Leap seems interesting.

  • Apple planning to ditch Intel chips in Macs for its own custom silicon in 2020

If/ when they do it, I'd imagine we'd see a whole new branch of processors. Compatible with ARM, low level emulating Intel in hardware, but with new, unique features such as improved multi thread and what-not. The selling point being Security, Low energy, Speed, better on-chip Metal integration, Better video encoding etc?
