  • How to recover deleted files from iCloud on your Mac

Consequently you can't recover documents from iCloud on your iOS device...
Works fine in Chrome for iOS. There is a three dot link menu on the bottom right where one of the selections is "Request Desktop Version". From there it works just like described in the article. Go to the settings app, scroll all the way to the bottom left and select "Restore Files".

  • WebKit flaw crashes iPhones when malicious page opened in browsers, HTML-rendering apps

Wow it crashed my iMac as well. It is not just iOS devices. Safari for macOS is affected as well.

I opened the source code in Chrome. What is going on is a CSS div style that applies a backdrop blur filter. Then on line 15 there are thousands of empty div tags all being styled. It is not simply 15 lines that seem to suggest it is so simple. What is really happening is that Safari is unable to process the scale of the rendering effect. Chrome on macOS is unaffected.

Why would you rather spend what is probably around $2K USD on that iPhone or carry around two of them when you can just use an eSIM or carry an extra an extra physical SIM?
I already have two phones. I don’t want to jump through hoops as described in the article. If it was easy I would do it. If Verizon would configure the eSim as my US number and I could put in a physical local Sim as needed fine, but it has to be seamless. If I receive an incoming call from the US it answers on the US number. If I make or receive a call on the foreign local number then it just works like it would using two phones. If not, I’m out.

It wasn't all that long ago that some of the more elite magazines wouldn't even accept photos from a full-frame camera - they wanted medium format.
I've been in high end publishing for 30 years including fashion, cosmetics, food, medical and automotive. You are correct about submitting actual film to the magazines. They did frown on 35mm. We mostly used 8 x 10, but that was a long time ago. Ever since Photoshop was released in 1988 no magazine could even tell what format was used after it had been manipulated. They just evaluated it on screen or from a test print.

The images coming out of the current iPhone are in many cases better than the 8 x 10 film that we used to scan on a drum scanner. Less noise, better color dynamics, etc. In the old days, there were many things that could compromise quality such as the speed of the film used, exposure, developing process, converting from negative to positive and scanning that could could all compromise the quality at every step, introduce noise, color fall off, etc. and back then the lenses were not all that good because they were basically shaped by hand. Now days the lenses are completely shaped by computer and significantly more accurate. Also, with old film methodology you would make a Polaroid first to check exposure and focus and then load up your film, but still you only got one shot to get it right and then wait a few hours to get the results from the lab. Complete crap compared to today's digital work flow.
