First look: Mac Pro and Apple Pro Display XDR [u]
...and at $200 is the vesa adapter both questionable in need (vs four threaded holes) and more than the cost of many stands and arms ? There are four high capacity Ergotron arms in this studio and they were all less than $200 US and came with multiple adapter plates, albeit one must turn (undo) four knurled knobs to detach... Would magnetic attachment be better as a BTO option or kit vs all in ? -

...does anyone actually like the industrial design...?
Does even something as simple as the lack of taper on the stand belie both functional need and structural expressiveness, as well as use more of the high embodied energy aluminum than may be needed, given Apple's claim of focus on sustainability...? -
Eight-core 2019 15-inch MacBook Pro crushes mid-2018 model in benchmarks
Impressive speed for sure...
...and yet still holding out at this end for such (basic?) 'pro' features as...- lower cost non-touch bar option (the mac I actually use)
- user adjustable non-proprietary storage (benefitting every mac I've owned)
- user adjustable non-proprietary ram (benefitting every mac I've owned)
- an HD screen I don't have to squint at (17")I know, I know - I'll likely be waiting a long time...

Define 'sustainable'...?

...hmmm privacy - I've always wondered why the remote wipe feature needed full time location tracking (find my iphone) and services (remote wipe) on prior to a loss, vs being able to simply wipe after loss ie. separate the two features...? And do all roads still seem to lead to iCloud (it seems established that the cloud has priivacy risks) and in the US presumably falls under the Patriot Act, and is that a privacy subject unto itself...?
