Mac Pro will be 'easy-to-upgrade,' debut in 2019 alongside 31.6-inch Apple 6K display
abolish said:What is a “6K3K” display? My vote would be for 40" 4K @ 110 dpi and 40" 8k at 220 dpi pro retina - this would tie in with cinema, thunderbolt, scaled retina, apple tv 4k (8k?) and so much more... After using the former (40" 4k) I find 27" anything surprisingly ineffective and inefficient in comparison.
I look forward to an effective upgrade to the 17" mbp, hopefully @ 4k...
...and please a mini that has a discrete gpu to match the upgraded cpu, and all with flexible internal industry standard upgradable storage & ram options... 'Pro' computers 'for the rest of us'...?
I guess time will tell...

Mac mini 2018 Review: Apple's mightiest mini yet
hodar said:Graphics wise, I understand it's not the most powerful GPU on the planet; but how well will it perform? Given the speed of Thunderbolt 3/USB C; having an internal drive that is huge isn't that great of an issue, when you can just add a large HDD or SSD to a USB 3, or a USB C Drive Hub.

In context a 2010 iMac still seems to rate better... -
Apple's powerful new Mac mini perfectly suits the 'Pro' market, yet the complaints have al...
...no option dual (raid) standard PCIe blade storage to me = not pro... (check newegg pricing!)...no option discrete GPU bto to me = not pro...Does adding a raid enclosure and eGPU undermine the minimalist design argument, and raise the cost to silly money...? The other upgrades are all welcome of course, and yet...Here's hoping the Vega option at least makes it into the BTO roster next month...

Apple to reportedly unveil iPad Pro, MacBook Air replacement, Mac mini at Oct. 30 event

Is USB-C for power better? It's really not, it's consuming a valuable port and MagSafe could be argued was an excellent design. USB-C for power feels like a step backward in that regard.
I was at an Apple event recently and watching the presenter carry his new MacBook Pro around with various dongles hanging off to be able to connect devices was quietly ridiculous.
USB-C for power means you can just plug into your dock, monitor, whatever and get power as well. You can use portable power bricks from any vendor. It's the future. Magsafe means you need your proprietary Apple charger.
Personally I really dislike having a bag full of costly, messy dongles that seem outdated every few years, and one can of course arrive at a meeting and be surprised by a need for something one does not have... Also one snagged USB-C cord and a $4k macbook pro flying off a desk is not something I would look forward to or consider a design 'upgrade'...
Opinions and needs differ. Was someone having a bad day? Live and let live...? -
Apple endorses federal privacy legislation at U.S. Senate hearing

Isn't that cute. The troll wants to come out and play. What, exactly, does Elcomsoft have to do with privacy? And what does Facebook and Google vacuuming up mountains of data to monetize and make money have to do with Apple?
Or were just sitting around waiting for some article you could spam your link to?I don't care what the policy, EULA or business interests are of Apple at the moment of the day (subject to change), yet more the general logic of so much existing in some foreign land server with the nature and stability of governance in place at the moment...
And the link - no I have no connection, although it surely was easy to find, and raised the question of security settings by default sending so much off site... They do in fact qualify the intent as not to hack, but for recovery, for those that want to rely on such...
