  • Apple commemorates Steve Jobs on the 10th anniversary of his death

Time flies fast. Can't believe it's been 10 years. I still remember that day. I was shocked when I heard the news, as I didn't knew about his illness. I was in my early twenties that time and had recently started following him and Apple very closely. Yes, I was a "fanboy" by then. I was really looking upto him and was eager to see Apple's next moves under him. Not just from a tech enthusiast's perspective but also from a leadership standpoint. I was looking upto him for his leadership qualities and how will he handle the iPhone competition. Like will Apple give in and launch a bigger screen iPhone to stay relevant? Steve famously said no one wants big phones. It would have been really interesting to see how he would have continued the iPhone lineup and introduced new product categories. Apple Car might have been launched by now maybe. Who knows? But I certainly miss him.

  • iPhone 13 Pro costs Apple $21 more to build than iPhone 12 Pro, study finds

What about the cost of all the people who worked on the iPhone software, marketing, R&D, distribution? What about the logistics and manufacturing (labour/contract) cost? I always find such estimates very naive, when only the cost of individual parts is taken into account. This gives an impression that Apple is making 40% profit on the iPhone Pro. But clearly, that's not the case.

Isn't anyone bothered by the edge to edge screen? It just seems to distort the image at edges.
That's exactly what I thought when I saw the Series 7 event.

  • Foxconn to acquire first US EV factory in deal with Lordstown Motors

Foxcomm is establishing contract EV manufacturing in USA to prove to Apple that Foxcomm can do the same good job manufacturing Apple Car as they did for the rest of Apple products. I am sure Apple have global market vision for Apple Car.
That certainly would be on their mind, but it can't be the only reason. What if Apple doesn't agree? They can't risk billions. And I wonder why Apple haven't already considered them, given that every other car manufacturer rejected them and that they are planning to do the manufacturing on their own as per the latest reports?

And fyi, Foxconn already has signed an electric car deal with Xiaomi, so it's not just about Apple. They are just seeing this as an upcoming business. With so many non-car companies entering electric car production/design, those companies would need a manufacturing partner and as we have seen, existing car companies aren't much willing to do that.

  • 'Apple Car' windscreen could block glaring lights from view

I don't think Apple car could block glaring lights because for that to happen, the car needs to be launched first.
