  • Apple shuts down Epic Games developer account

So Epic agreed to the contract because they know Apple has an enormous base of customers. Then epic got greedy and thought they could be dishonorable and cheat the company (Apple) that helped them become a worldwide sensation.
epic you suck for your dishonesty, lying to customers when you blamed Apple for the situation that you forced onto itself, stealing from the company that made you extremely wealthy.
I don’t care what quality games you produce, I will not support a greedy, lying, stealing company ever again.
    I'm done with you epic!
And you don’t think Apple is greedy? Charging 500% of the retail price for storage in your new iMac, or soldering the SSD in your motherboard because then you’ll buy a new iMac sooner when it dies?
Nah. It’s clear you don’t own a mac, huh? Soldered storage is faster, more reliable, and less prone to failure as plug in components. This is fact, not opinion. So you’re not going to be buying a new Mac sooner because of it. My Macs last close to a decade anyway when they are put to pasture. Macs have a longer useful lifespan than PCs, so you’re just peddling hater conspiracy theory. Pathetic.

Although what you said may be a fact, in real life maybe is not noticeable.  My customers have no problems with their Thinkpads or PC's, even though they don't have soldered SSD or RAM modules.  And I don't remember Apple older devices having major issues with replaceable RAM and storage.

And like I posted before, Mac have a longer life compared to cheap Windows devices.  High quality Windows devices are as good or better than Apple devices.

  • Microsoft fires back at Apple, accusing it of treating gaming apps differently

I agree with Microsoft on this, but Apple (if they say anything) will probably argue they are not a general purpose platform and instead compare themselves to the Xbox store. I really wish Apple would see iOS as the post-PC platform for everything.
When you have 1.7 million apps on your platform, you don't get the pleasure or the privilege of saying you're not a general purpose platform.  If they did, that would be a BS argument.  MS is the only competitor that has the size and economic clout to go after Apple on this and I'm glad that they're raising the issue regarding Apple's dogmatic handling of the App Store.
Apple is on point here. If you want to play on our platform play by our rules. I may be wrong, but I’m sure Microsoft is not letting Sony games stream to Xbox. Microsoft can’t be trusted. Why would they undermine their own development platform? If game developers were wooed to this and stopped developing for iOS directly, it would make us dependent on Microsoft like we were for the first Macintosh. Then when Microsoft looses interest like the tend to do, the platform would suffer.

Microsoft wants special treatment that is all.
MS just want their service in iOS devices, that is all.

I think the issue is that Apple rules don't allow MS to play.

I'm not sure that Sony want to stream their games from Xbox, considering that they focus in their exclusive games to sell consoles.  A better example is EA Access, which you can subscribe and use from the XBox,

If happens as you said, is because MS did a better job with xCloud than what Apple did with Arcade.
Then when Microsoft looses interest like the tend to do, the platform would suffer.
Have MS showed and sign of loosing interest in their gaming business?

    Well.... this is a first.

Time for Apple to take Apple Arcade seriously.
I always thought that Apple Arcade was serious for Apple.  It's just that xCloud could be far better than what Apple offers.  And we, as customers, now are stuck with Apple Arcade.

    Stinking Microsoft.

Always trying to fight with apple.
I don't think that MS always tries to fight Apple.  Look how, for example, Apple present them in their keynotes showing MS Office and Minecraft AR.  They were event mentioned to have MS Office for Apple Silicone devices.
And always banding together with the other also-rans

    Lol

    Good luck with that
Did Apple gave them other option?
