  • Apple execs explain why you should use Apple Maps over competitors

As a shareholder and customer I keep trying Apple Maps to compare them with Google Maps and it still comes up as not ready for prime time way too often. I wish it were otherwise, but it is simply not good for giving the best routing information.
As has been said by others, it is way better than at launch.

Would love to see Apple integrate real time and projected weather information so that we can route around or delay our arrival to miss severe weather and to consider road conditions when routing. I live in the south and sometimes a slightly different track can be the difference between driving on ice and rain or snow and nothing and the people down here are not good on slick roads. I work in a hospital and we are always open and I am on call regardless of the weather. It would also be nice on the road to avoid driving into an area with an active Tornado Warning or Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Years ago a co-worker lost a brand new car (totaled) by driving through a really nasty hail storm.

  • Apple reportedly allowing 'looser' adherence to ad privacy rules & requirements

The Financial Times is hardly “fake news” as is charged in another comment.

The data miners like Facebook, Google and others are pushing back hard on all of this and it is not inconceivable that Apple has caved on some of this. They can break functionality on websites and content until you agree to play by their rules and Apple knows this all too well.

Evan anonymized data when combined with other available data can quickly hone in on the identity of a user.

  • UK probes Apple, Google over concerns they're endangering children

Parenting is not the job of Apple, Google or any other company.

This is a non-issue pushed by nanny state types. If you have a concern about what your children see online maybe you should use parental controls, restrict or limit online access or maybe keep screen time to supervised only.

  • Apple will allow customers to repair iPhones and Macs in 2022

In the not too distant past the Mac Pro (cheese grater) was modular and the owner could easily swap out parts. OWC I think still sells CPU upgrades for them where you can literally upgrade the CPU in a matter of minutes.
That generation of Mac Pro was the best money I have ever spent on a computing device without exception.

  • Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky joins Apple's board of directors

J&J is not looking well run or a good company these days.

They knowingly sold contaminated Talc to people that was put on babies and commonly put on the privates of women and men. The lawyers will be feasting on J&J for many years over that.

There are far better companies operating in the medical/healthcare space.
