  • Apple working on redesigned iMac, two Mac Pros, cheaper display for 2021

If the smaller Mac Pro is still going to use MPX modules it can really only reduce in one dimension.

Assuming Apple M series do still support 3rd party GPU this year or next.  Then again if they have own Gpu in the wings they likely offer that as an MPX as well.

As others have said would love for Apple to make the stand optional on the new iMac and screen put the circle Mount of the pro display on both with a cheaper fixed height stand for the retail box versions. Take inspiration from the Mac Pro steel frame. BTO stand free, vesa Mount or fully adjustable pro stand.

  • Apple unveils new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon M1 for $1299

All right folks. The people who claimed that getting rid of the "Intel tax" was going to result in MacBooks costing up to $300 less, where are you? Exactly. Intel never did charge Apple very much for the same Core i3 and Core i5 processors that were in Windows and ChromeOS machines that cost half as much. An Acer Nitro 5 is actually better than an entry level MacBook Pro because it contains a 4 GB dedicated graphics card - you can choose between AMD and Nvidia - and starts for under $700. Granted it doesn't have the "light thin premium" build of the MacBook Pro - the thing is thick and heavy and even the keys are massive (though the latter is by choice because lots of gamers prefer to use the keyboard as opposed to the controller) but it is still sufficient evidence that the Intel CPU never cost Apple that much.

Top Intel i7 MacBook Pro with 16Gb Ram 1Tb Storage is $300 more than M1 Macbook Pro with the same Ram and Storage. With the performance numbers touted the M1 could well be better than the i7 with optomised Apps.  So MacBooks could well be costing $300 less with the M1 but just not in the baseline.

If they follow suit with the other product line I'd assume we see M2 MacBooks next year at same price and the M1 drop price $100 or more. They can drop the price $300 over next couple of years and people will pay the extra price to get this years model.

  • Apple Silicon switch could lead to lower-cost Mac lineups, analyst says

There will also be savings from getting rid of 3rd party GPUs!
Unless they don’t get rid of discrete GPU in the machines that have them already.

  • Apple working on re-engineered and smaller Mac Pro

Would assume the dimension needed to reuse the MPX modules in both models would remain the same leaving a machine that can only really be shorter.

  • Epic argues Apple has 'no rights to the fruits' of its labor in 'Fortnite' filing

    Palmund said:
Why dont someone sue Epic over the rights to make and sell V-Bucks? Its only a single 64 bit value stored on every account.

I mean they are selling colored hats and dance moves that have no advanteges in gameplay for exorbitant amounts of real money to children (and their parents)

Epic should not be allowed to create a monopoly on V-Bucks, and competition would give the players much better prices and value for money.

likewise Everybody should be able to create and sell colored hats and dance lessons. They should give the power to the people and players and not be so evil...
Most of the items they sell are culturally misappropriation or outright copyright infringement. Making it all the more obvious they wouldn’t know the value other parties bring to the party.
