  • Apple gives retail employees T-shirt, keepsake credo for holidays

I think the concentric circles work better than having "I work for the largest company in the world and all I got was this lousy T shirt".
You obviously have no idea what it's like to actually work and enjoy it, to be part of a proud team and be given the opportunity to contribute to it. Being part of any company large or small is NOT what you GET, it's what you GIVE, and by giving you get the enjoyment of working and contributing. THAT'S the pay anyone gets, and if they don't appreciate that, then there's something fundamentally wrong with them. The t-shirt is a symbol of Apple's current prosperity. Its design wouldn't be the same without the sheer quantity of retail stores in the world. They didn't just happen. They represent, in part, the happy, dedicated contributions of all Apple employees each doing their respective jobs well, and in part by Apple's millions of customers who happily buy the company's products in volume, thereby financing this huge capital investment from only part of Apple's resulting profits.

  • Apple AirPods now shipping to preorder customers

I really like this news site and will likely always come here for Apple news, but this is pretty bad in terms of positive slant.

Apple missed the holiday season big time with this one. They touted an end of October release and over shot that date by a country mile. You rightfully point that out, but I'd hardly call this releasing in time for the holiday season. A handful of people who happened to order within a couple of hours of a release that was a surprise (December, not October) will luck out. However, there are going to be a lot of disappointed people this holiday season.
Some people are totally clueless, or at least unappreciative, of what it takes to get a new product thought of, designed, engineered, tooled, production/supply lines set up, packaging designed and produced, pricing, marketing/advertising, logistics, etc., etc.,—over literally YEARS!! No, none of that matters if one's precious holiday shopping season is ruined because Apple cares enough NOT to release a product until it's really as good as they can make it.

This will most likely be yet another shining new product to add to Apple's ever-more-attractive ecosystem of products, which continues to attract more and more customers every year. This next trip around the sun will bring us yet another holiday shopping season before you know it.

I wonder what if you open the AirPod case to pair to your device and you're in an area where there are multiple supported devices. For instance: as you're walking out of the Apple Store after just purchasing the AirPods. It could happen any time you take the AirPods out of the case and some other supported device is in close proximity when you open the AirPod case. Lots of people are continuously clickity-clackity on their devices. Someone other than yourself could inadvertently or maliciously pair your AirPods to their device. For this reason it seems like the AirPods should be connected to an iCloud account and/or managed through iTunes. That way the owner of the AirPods could see a list of devices the AirPods are currently paired to and choose to remove pairing from a device if they want to. Or even turn off the pairing connection ability after you have paired/connected all the devices you wanted to, with the ability to turn pairing ability back on in case you ever want to pair a new device later on.
Too much thinking there, pal. The pods can probably sense multiple possible signals and will probably send the pairing message to the strongest one. Then again, if you're so concerned about this, just wait until you're "alone" before doing the pairing routine.

"Malicious pairing"? Like from the Russians?!!! Ooooooo.

I can keep repeating this in the Apple insider forums simply because no one at Apple insider appears to be listening...

     How do they sound?

All this hype about these headphones and yet nobody is talking about the quality of the sound we get from them!  To me, that's pure insanity.  And no, I do not prefer to "assume" that they sound the same or similar to the existing wired earbuds only because they are a similar shape and color. Give us a review of how they sound!

    Thank you.
So, you're saying you're a slave to others' opinions? Man up and get a pair and see for yourself! You have 14 days to return them. Simple.
