  • Apple invents modular Apple Watch accessories that link together, connect via diagnostics port

I love how Apple never sits on its laurels. It's never satisfied with the status quo. It's always looking for ways to improve its products.

But it can only do this because of its mission to "make the best products on Earth."

Its customers know this. Its would-be customers know this, and that drives its sales—at prices high enough to afford it the resources to continue its r&d, as well as its overall operations.

Apple's detractors jealously whine about the "Apple Tax", but its customers are grateful for its resolve to stay the course and just keep doing its successful actions to the benefit of us all.

  • iPhone SE preorders top 3.4M in China, gold & rose gold most popular - report

Both the iPhone SE and the smaller iPad Pro are very smart moves for Apple. The SE is great for the 4" holdouts as well as for emerging markets. And the iPad pro is indeed the future of computing for tablet-oriented users.

  • Will Apple's 9.7" iPad Pro take a chunk out of Microsoft Windows?

No way. For that Apple needs a Mac tablet.
Yes way. The number of PC users who only got to be PC users, by the sheer demands of their jobs, or who went in "kicking and screaming" because of other external demands of the modern world, but only have simple needs and tasks for a "computer", once they discover the relative ease and simplicity of iOS and the well-built iPad, are most likely legion.

It doesn't matter if it looks "under designed", "terrible", or whatever. What matters is that it works and helps save people's lives, and incidentally sells more Apple Watches .

Also, it's probably not white, but matte silver as in metal. Perhaps an electrode of some sort.
Yes of course the most important thing is it saves lives. But that does not mean they have it make it 'ugly' on purpose.

I can't imagine the patch NEEDS to be white. I see no reason why it can't match the band.  If it needs to be WHITE then fine.

A watch is something people wear everyday, and no one wants to wear an watch that is uglier than it needs to be.
Again, it doesn't matter how damn "ugly" it looks. And the "white" patch IS an electrode. See this vid as published in the MacRumors article:

Personally, I think it looks under designed. Is it something an Apple Watch owner will buy? Apple Watch owners should weigh in here.
As an AppleWatch sport owner I think the white patch looks terrible. Would be much better if it matched the rest of the band.
