  • tvOS 26 hands on: Sleek Liquid Glass redesign, new Control Center and more

Major issue with new release and personal movie library. I have a lot of movies I've acquired over the years, and the TV app refuses to display more than 75 of them in any given list, leaving me with empty tiles. Exactly 75 of them, to be exact.

Switch to another category, and I'll see the first 75 of them there. And so on.

Worse is that tvOS now doesn't even show the title for selected tiles, which means I have no clue what any of the tiles w/o posters actually are.

The previous version had this problem intermittently. Now it seems to be permanent.

Even reset Apple TV and reinstalled OS. No joy.

  • Apple may look late to AI but it's aiming for something different

The new (for Apple) On Hold call feature is a good example of an AI-based service that does a thing, but doesn't advertise that fact that it's AI-based.

A few years back there was a mass stabbing in China, where a man stabbed 24 people, including 23 children and an elderly woman.

    All survived.

On pretty much the same day, Adam Lanza shot
and killed 26 people at Sandy Hook, including 20 children.

Which group of parents would you have preferred to have been in?

People are welcome to give up their own rights, not mine.

Unfortunately, here in the US, your "rights" are interfering with the rights of some kids to live past puberty.

  • Apple slips out a quiet iOS 26 beta 1 update with a new build

"It could also resolve early battery drain reports on supported iPhones."

Come on folks. Every time a new OS version releases the first thing it does is run through and reindex the stuff that's on your phone. It's not a battery drain issue, just the OS and apps doing their jobs.

    It happens every year.

Perfectly safe in jolly ol England.  No one is allowed to have firearms there.
That's not true. Gun ownership is legal in England, but only under strict licensing and for specific reasons, plus they have secure storage and usage rules. That said, some firearms (like handguns and automatics) are all but banned, and carrying a gun in public is illegal.

Unlike here in the US, where any fool can buy one. Or fifty.

Which is why the U.S. has a firearm death rate roughly 50 to 300 times higher than England, depending on where you live.
