  • Inside Apple TV 4K -- the best addition to your TV set

    Love the Apple TV but... ever since Movies and TV moved to the Apple TV app I've had consistent issues with my purchased Movie tiles updating. Just row after row of blank gray tiles that either don't update at all or, if they do, update one after another every 2-3 seconds or so.

    The problem probably lies with rewriting the app in SwiftUI and more to the point, the fact that I now have over 800 movies I've purchased over the past couple of decades.

    I am--unfortunately--a big fan of picking up movies that were listed as $3-$5 on the Friday sales, discounted bundles, and so on, and I suspect that they simply don't run tests on accounts that large.

    As has become increasingly evident, the world is growing less and less tolerant of bullies.

    The was an old internet adage that said that it had a tendency to reroute around damage. I suspect that the world is now trying to figure out how to reroute around the United States.

    Funny how people keep focusing on the economic plays while ignoring other, far more dangerous options. 

    Donald thinks he's playing 3D checkers. But what happens when someone else decides to simply knock over the entire board?

    China could well view these attacks on its economy as attacks on China itself.

    So with the US economy is disarray and with the US having alienated most of its trading partners and military allies, China could decide that it's time and past time to move forward and "annex" Taiwan. Adding that islands economic power to its own.

    In fact, it may well feel it's been granted the right to do so, especially given Russia's move to annex Ukraine and the number of times Trump has indicated that the US should annex Canada, Greenland, and Panama.

    What's sauce for the goose...

    All of these things combined serve to discourage business from investing in US based manufacturing.  It makes much more business sense to manufacture elsewhere.  Keep in mind that most of Apple's sales are outside the USA.  If Trump makes Apple choose between the shrinking US market and the international market, it makes business sense to choose the larger International market.
    I've already seen companies pausing or even cancelling plants in production because of the increased costs for steel and other equipment.

    It it didn't make sense before to build a plant in the US, how does it make sense now when everything you need is now 30-50% more expensive/???
