People say they want one. Apple makes one. People don't buy one. Apple stops making one.

Rinse. Repeat.

On a serious note, if Apple makes one they need to commit to making one for more than just a year. People are on multi-year upgrade cycles, and even people who might want one might be off-cycle and unable to buy at that point in time.

Secondarily, they also need to make sure it has adequate battery life, something that's plagued mini phones for years now.

Apple had a patent on a "hollow hinge" design that let let material fold into a teardrop shape as opposed to having a hard 180 degree bend.

If Apple want's bloggers to use their devices more for video... then they need to focus more on audio. They need to integrate more with wireless microphones and perhaps even create their own wireless microphone system. Having a single USB-C port is a huge limiting factor. Can't run a mic to the phone when one has to use the sole port to offload video to external storage.

The point remains that you can't have a "secure" backdoor that's only open to certain people. It's impossible to make. So sooner or later it will be compromised and abused and then everyone is screwed.
