  • Titanium Apple Card shows signs of wear after just one month

It is FREE card. No annual fee... I guess people expect too much for free card.
Why even bother to use physical card? for only 1% reward?
Most of people have 2-3% rewards free cards anyway.. If place like restaurant, use amex or PNC free card for 3% return.

If you have only Apple card then get another one for higher rewards.

  • Apple asks White House not to apply tariffs to Mac Pro parts

Dell & HP have different story then Apple. Far as I know only Apple has assembly factory in USA.
The other companies are rely on China. So they don't have card to play from the start.
Only thing they can do, move to other country.

However Apple has Texas factory that can be use as assembly line for new Mac Pro.
As long as import parts has no tariff. That's what Apple asking.

You want us to manufacturing stuff in USA then we want no tariff on imported parts. Then we will assemble the Mac Pro in USA.

The business man always in negotiation. If Apple can get no tariff for Mac Pro parts then they can keep the high margin and another marketing slogan as assembled in USA . If Trump not allow this then defend on next tariff hike, Apple adding more price for Mac Pro as new tariff added.
For Apple, there is no lose story here.

As you all know, if you don't ask, you don't know the answer you might get.

Also one more thing.. Since when Apple produce over powered products per price ratio in the past? They never did.
Why lots of people buy old Mac Pro case and converted to PC or hackintosh? Because the old Mac Pro case is look nice. Same as new Mac Pro.
You want to assembled own part and running hackintosh or window then go ahead. No one stop you.. Not even Tim Cook.
You want the new Mac Pro case then pay me... That's what Apple always said.

  • Video demonstrates Hackintosh potential, but still isn't the Mac Pro

The problem with Apple now is they create iMac Pro. This desktop has issue that price wise close to new Mac Pro but no easy upgrade.
Yeah.. They add 5K panel for that but 27' 5K resolution is not for everyone.. Not even 2% maybe?

Anyway.. Mac mini is some what dead. Even new refresh tie up 2.5' drive removed so there is no upgrade internally.
I would get rid of current form factor Mac mini and shrink new Mac Pro and start user upgrade CPU, RAM, SSD and 2 PCI-E expansion that hold 2 slot GPU.

Since Apple now make own GPU so I would add that option as well. The price start from $1,500-2,000?

  • Apple hatched years-long plan to reduce royalty payments to Qualcomm, documents reveal

    Johan42 said:
Qualcomm can charge whatever they want for their products. If Apple does not like it they can get modems from someone else. But they won’t do that...being the most hypocritical company and all, that complains of high prices for modems while overcharging their customers.
Wrong. They aren’t overcharging. They’re more expensive than the junk you prefer, but countless people find immense value in their products, as the extraordinary demand (lines, sold out preorders, etc) prove.

Work hard, save your money, and one day you can enjoy them too.
Yes they did.. Instead of set price on the chip they sold or license of patent. They want % of your iPhone sales price.
That will cause price different between companies who using same chip.

Your iPhone Max's lte chip does not work better then iPhone XR. It is same chip. Same function. Nothing more.
Qualcomm wants iPhone Max pay more than iPhone XR because iPhone Max's price higher than iPhone XR.

It is like gaming PC's AMD CPU price higher than other PC that use same AMD Ryzen 7 2700X. That makes no sense at all. That's what Qualcomm did.
    And that is wrong.

That's why Qualcomm charged and paid fine on South Korea, EU, China. Soon to US FTC as well.

So far no one know how much Apple paid. I don't think entire Qualcomm wants. Instead Qualcomm get 3-4 years contract and more if Apple wants.
That brings Qualcomm's stock price before Apple drop the Qualcomm chip.

This time Qualcomm may charged same price on regardless where it uses. That is the reason Apple sign the contract. Which that's Apple wanted.

Who wins? No one. Qualcomm lost revenue multi years due to their greedy.(Qualcomm was $80 stock price down to less than $45 by 2/2016. Almost drop 50%.And all these years between mid $70 to mid $40s range movement. Every times they get fined fluctuate price.)
Apple just get breathing room to develop own communication chip if they want to Qualcomm in dust.
3-4 years mean 2024. Apple should move on to A17 by then. They should able to create own 5G or beyond communication chip.

  • Apple Card: no multi-user support, no penalty rates, foreign transactions, more

Apple will make money on this new apple card business.
Apple's intent is push out more Apple products not make money on fees and interest.
Currently you can buys interest free Apple products with Barclay card.
Now Apple card gives you 3% back on same day instead interest free.

This Apple card has less rewards because there is no fee and low interest rate. Most of credit cards have high reward because it has fees and high interest rates.
If you are carefully manage your cards then your reward will decrease by fess and interest payment.

Good part is any transaction you made with Apple pay will gives you 2%.
Most of no annual fee cards has 2% rewards apply on specific transaction.
So if your card gives you 2-3% rewards on restaurant then use that cards. But buying something at CVS and your card gives you 1% and if CVS takes Apple pay then you use Apple pay to get 2% rewards.

If Apple gives you titanium card with less than $50 then I will get that card as well.. It just look nice..

Since new iPad mini & air has A12, I guess next year Apple will introduce POS for small business as instant money transaction on their Apply cash.
Square needs to be concern for this..

If you are not savvy about credit card rewards then Apple card is not that bad.. Specially you forget to pay on time.(I think lots of people pay late fees.)
