My supply chain informant says the new iPhone will be made out of peanut butter with an outer coating of chocolate. They figured out how to make chocolate not melt in your hands which was crucial.

The new iPhone is also believed to be 50% more absorbent. Finally!

I just think whatever new technologies are ready, and yields are feasible for mass production, then go the tried and true route of incorporating them into a further refined 7s as would always be the case.

If it's for marketing reasons or to appease the folks who loiter these types of blogs, then everyone is f'ed.

The general Apple consumer only cares that their devices are the best on the market and takes the best pictures. And that's why Apple is so profitable. Not because it cares about what Wall St thinks or what tech blog loiterers think.

Let's remember the echo-chamber nonsense about removing the headphone jack. The ones who gave a f about that and were rolling in the isles of Nerdom and disbelief were not the general consumer, but only those on The Verge of reality and echo-chamber regurgitators. 

Wow. 
I had been saying all along that there would only be one iteration this year because of the lack of leaks this far in the cycle. And then after supposed confirmation that they are indeed having trouble with the new technology that is needed to produce it, I think it's crazy now to believe anything but a 7s to be released this year.

And honesty, that's what we should all hope for. For Apple to work diligently getting the product with all its new technology to market, as best as can be, but not rush prematurely. 
It would be great if Apple released a further refined 7, (the best mobile phone on the market as a whole -software and all) than a rushed product for any reason, much less for something silly as to "celebrate" an anniversary.
We saw what happened last year when a certain company rushed a product to market for foolish reasons.

Samsung was allegedly planning on shipping it's new S8 with this new fingerprint technology, but ended up putting the fingerprinter reader on the back next to the camera.
So other fingerprint tech vendors are in the same boat. 
But again, it's analysts eating their own poop, there is no iPhone 8 slated for this year. They made this up wholesale. They pooped it, eat it and regurgitate it over and over.
