  • Apple Vision Pro shipments reportedly cut as US demand for headset wanes

Apple should make a docking station for it so when you don’t want to wear it you can use it as a Mac Mini with a monitor, keyboard and mouse. That way the dual purpose helps someone justify the price.
I agree. If the Vision Pro headset ran macOS software and thereby functioned as a $3,500 extra mobile 4K laptop, then my interest level would have been much higher.

  • The best Apple Vision Pro productivity apps at launch

AppleInsider, note the out of place word in the caption text:

“Photographers will have be able to work in Adobe Lightroom from day one”

Adobe wasn’t mentioned in the body of the article so I was surprised, and pleased, to see this. InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, too, please!

  • What's Apple's Vision Pro killer app?

'Killer App' People still think this is 1990 and the arrival of computer for the home. That was fine then but now, sorry there won't  be a killer app. The iPhone itself was a killer app. The AirPods were the killer app and web browsers & the internet changed the way we use computers. All Vision Pros do is take excisiting vertical market goggles and make them pretty. Same apps as on your Mac, iPhone and iPad just  presented in a 3D format. All the tech industry does today is try to get people to buy newer hardware, because there is a lot of money to be made in selling hardware. The VP use the same apps as we have been using for years. Was the iPad a radical idea, nope just a big screen iPhone without the phone. Vision Pro is just an another computer without an external display. As for the vertical market yes there will be interesting Apps but for the rest of us not so much. It will be niche market that when the price comes down Apple will dominate.
“Same apps as on your Mac….” May it be so! A 4K+ “laptop” with Vision Pro mobility is compelling for me.

  • What's Apple's Vision Pro killer app?

There won't be a killer app because it runs iPadOS apps.  You can mirror a Mac, but it can't run those apps.  No one will buy this, especially in today's economy when most are barely making it paycheck to paycheck.  It starts at $3500, but most would need the expensive prescription lenses.  VR has been around since the early 90s and it still hasn't gained any traction.  Just like 3DTV came and went...no one wanted to wear glasses.  It is socially isolating, even worse with goggles on.  Like Twolf2919 said, going to a live event is the excitement of being there in person and seeing the event live with your own eyes.  Not watching TV with a headset and pretending you are there.  Apple made this device, but there was not a 'problem' to be fixed, like there was with the iPhone and prior 'smartphones'.  Apple has made some products in the past that failed, and Apple corrected those mistakes by killing them off quickly (iPod HiFi and Power Mac G4 Cube, as an example).
“You can mirror a Mac, but it can't run those apps.” Agreed. Running macOS apps could be the “killer app” for me, although I appreciate the specialized training potential as noted in Reply 1 by Andyring. Is that market large enough and will Vision Pro headsets offer sufficient value to that market? I’m cheering for Apple while waiting for further light.

  • Vision Pro to ship with 1TB storage

I am looking to learn the most effective approach for adding storage to the Vision Pros. Maybe the answer is as yet unformed if not unknown.
