  • Review: Jaybird's Tarah Pro may be the best fitness earbuds you can buy

"handily beating out most of the competition — including Apple" Not sure about this conclusion: Apple's PowerBeats3 have ear hooks (on your wishlist), are more sweat-proof that AirPods, and have the W1 chip making pairing with multiple Apple devices totally seamless. So, how much of the price difference between the Jaybirds and PowerBeats is worth the ear hooks and W1 chip? I mean, 2 extra hours of battery life is nice but isn't 12 hours a little long for a workout? ;-) And if you're the type to forget to charge your earbuds, you'll still forget to charge these between workouts, no? I appreciate the tech reviews on Apple Insider but this one felt off to me, perhaps it's the click-baity headline that doesn't really follow through on showing Apple's headphones (particularly the PowerBeats3) "handily" beaten.

For all those who said the iPad isn’t and will never be an iPad replacement...
I know right?! Who would replace an iPad with an iPad. Crazy!

  • Review: Apple Watch Nike+ hardware still solid, but Nike's software is lacking

I love the watch but the Nike app is just not up to the quality of Apple's workout app. I find the Nike app incredibly problematic. Nothing more infuriating than getting back from a run to find the Nike app stopped half way through. Never have that problem with the workout app. Glad it isn’t just me.
I couldn't agree more. I own the Nike+ version of the Apple Watch 2 and quite frankly gave up on the Nike+ Running App and just use Apple's. The exclusive watch faces do nothing for me either. I am only on the fence as to whether or not to go with LTE this time around. For $10/month it seems like it's worth it not to have to carry my iPhone with me on runs or hikes. Anyone have thoughts on this?
I just switched from the Series 2 to the Series 4 with LTE and I really do like the freedom of leaving my iPhone (the new, very expensive and very breakable Xs) at home when I go for a run. At the gym I used to have to worry about the phone staying put on the treadmill and when running outside I'd need to wear a belt to carry the phone, which I'd prefer not to do. It's also great to be able to chose a new podcast mid-run without having to plan ahead and load podcasts onto the watch via the iPhone (which even with Watch OS 5's new podcast app, is less than straight-forward). For $10 month I think it's totally worth it.

That said, a 2 hour run with GPS, heart rate monitor, podcasts streaming via LTE to bluetooth headphones (Beats w/W1chip) ate about 50% of the battery so slow marathoners like me might have to turn off the LTE and BT before the race.

The clasp has a perfectly tuned magnet that holds its place....
Unless they have changed something I have found that not to be true at least on the original silver SS band. Just flexing your wrist will cause it to loosen. I found myself retightening it many, many times during the day. But it is not a problem anymore since I don't use the Apple watch now, because it kept breaking, meaning the whole watch would just fall out of the case for no reason, no mistreatment, just hanging by the ribbon cable. Happened twice so I went back to a heavy duty classic chronometer style diving watch with solar power, which is working out great. It still connects to an iPhone to synchronize the date/time and timezone. The solar power is fantastic. No charging necessary, just wearing it during the day is sufficient to keep it charged 24 hours. I hardly ever used the apps on the Apple Watch anyway so I don't miss any of the functionality. I do see a lot of people wearing Apple Watches these days though.
