Apple TV+ planning 50 new shows for 2021, doubles production slate
This is great, but Apple also needs to try harder getting single-network streaming services to join its Apple TV Channels lineup. It has great potential. Services like Disney+, Peacock, Discovery+, and getting back HBO (Max) would really help make the Apple TV App a true contender to the likes of Netflix and Hulu. One app where everything has the same UI and features. Apple isn't making the platform attractive enough for content providers, and they aren't capitalizing on the channels they already have (ZERO marketing of these channels compared to TV+). This, plus a more affordable entry-level TV box, would put Apple in the TV big leagues.
