  • Power press: Fixes for Apple's oddly-placed Mac mini button

This was incredibly bad design from Apple.

My solution has been place a a small candy box that is about a half inch in width underneath my Mac mini, so that my finger can fit under it. It makes it appear that the Mac mini is floating.

How many times are you shutting down your desktop Mac? It's not a bad design at all. JFC people making a big deal out of shit that doesn't need a big deal made out of.  It's maddening!

The solution is to not shut your fuckin Mac off...how about that? Just put it to sleep and then wake up when you wanna use it again. Is that so hard?????
The solution is to think more than a 3rd grader when making stupid design decisions. Give one justification for the placement (no, not excuses as to why it’s not that big of a deal. I’m talking a valid justification.)

there is no reason to use a power button on a desktop Mac.

    It's a non issue.
then why does it have one?
Don't be stupid...for the couple of times when you do need to turn it on. But who the hell turns their desktop Mac off everyday? You just put it to sleep.
‘Don’t be stupid… it has a power button because it needs one. Except we pretend that it doesn’t because otherwise there’s no excuse for the design decision and then we can’t blindly parrot what Apple says’

  • Trump tariffs will raise prices, but Apple has set the table to avoid the worst of it

FYI: the current trade agreement with China (and with North America) was negotiated by the first Trump administration. So if Trump wants another “trade war” it’s over his own deals.
The world has changed since the 45th administration took office regardless of whether you (or anyone else) like it or not.

The incoming administration will do what's best today and looking forward, just like the decisions you make tomorrow might be different than ones you made when you were 22.

Not all change is good but for sure no presidential administration can keep running things the way they have been done four, forty, or four hundred years ago. I would have hoped this would be obvious by now.
The one thing I haven't heard in the last week is that the election was rigged simply because the person someone voted for didn't win. Funny how some people think a free and fair election should only work in one direction.

Not my choice, but if the people overwhelmingly want a felon, rapist, and treasonous conman to steal even more money from then country, hurt their future and freedoms, and destroy America's position in the world then so be it. That's how a democracy works, for better or worse.

Yes. Apple was not ready 8 years ago but it seems it is now. Plus Tim has a great relationship with Trump. Trump recently even called Tim Cook a better ceo than Jobs. He has total respect for Tim.
well, Tim's clearly a far better business man than Trump ever was - Apple is actually successful!

  • European Union evaluating if Corning monopolizes the smartphone screen market

So can someone who is lambasting the EU and defending Corning please write a rational defense explaining why the exclusivity agreements make sense or help anyone other than Corning? Clearly Gorilla Glass is a good product and if it's the best on the market then it deserves the 73% market share. If the only reason it has that share is because of exclusivity agreements then there are likely other good products out there that are getting pushed out. Meaning we're paying more because of less competition.
