  • Apple's new and sweeping user interface design is called 'Liquid Glass'

Been using it since last night on ipad, iphone and watch. I think it's very ugly. Not a fan. Prefer the very flat look. oh well.
Not to worry. They’ll change it again in a few years.  The design people have to have something to justify their existence, right?
What a shitty thing to say. You want to live in a dull, grey world, go ahead, but attacking an entire industry as if life would be better if they didn't have jobs is quite a twat thing.
Whatever - if you get excited when they change the color scheme and shape of the icons in an OS then good for you. I’ve been around long enough to see ideas recycled to give something a ‘fresh new look.’ I care about function. To the extent that the color and design of the interface enhance function I’m all for it. The rest seems to be designed to satisfy people who use the word ‘twat.’

So it is Aqua, without any color, from 2000.

With iOS 7, the heavy transparency was awful because everything blended over itself and over the next few iOS updates, the transparency was significantly reduced so you could actually see what you were doing without elements from behind bleeding into everything else.  I imagine the same will occur again.  The screenshot above showing the Home Screen looks just like iOS 18, with a few minor tweaks to the icons.  Not that much of a change.  Not exactly a 'radical' design change as all the websites claimed.
So many negative comments being posted about Liquid Glass based on pictures and video demos. Once you start to use Liquid Glass, you'll see it's way beyond Aqua (and Vista). Interface elements have physical attributes that extend way beyond just a visual appearance.
I take all the negative comments as a jab at the designers who simply recycle old ideas. It’s by no means unique to Apple, though. Look at cars, the fashion industry, food packaging, etc.

  • Files on iPadOS 26 doesn't suck anymore

The title of this article says it all!

Files has been one of several glaring weakness in iPadOS for several versions. It’s great that they’re finally making it more useful and usable.

  • Be strong, let everyone else risk their devices and data with the new betas

Why did you write this? It’s always a bit of guilty schadenfreude reading stories of people who download an early beta then use the device to do some critical task or with irreplaceable data and get burned.

  • iPadOS 26 has been revealed with new windowing, audio tools, background tasks

Boring and old UI from 15 years ago.
…a comment made by someone concerned with nothing more than looks. All of these are welcome changes - It sounds like Apple is finally letting iPadOS grow up so iPads will be more than glorified iPhones and be able to use the potential they’ve had for several years.

Regarding the multitasking, I wonder if there will be the ability to adjust it to conserve battery?
