  • A year after media doubting, Apple's Services save a difficult year

The only thing about DED’s editorials is that he is a sort of Don Quixote fighting windmills. The tech media doesn’t like Apple, they never have and never will. Apple is anathema to most tech writers, geeks, nerds, and many AI commenters. For this crowd Apple shouldn’t even exist and they cannot accept that it does. No other big tech company triggers so much hate and vitriol, not even Google. The knives are constantly out looking for potential ways to take Apple down. If there’s even a glimmer of hope for a failure of some sort it is trotted out like a prize catch. So fight on, Mr. Dilger but I doubt you will change any minds, especially here in AI forums.
Well, according to the internet, Microsoft was created by the antichris Bill Gates, who's behind the Covid-19 worldwide pandemic, and it's only the first step in Gate's plan to purge the world, and monitor humanity with chips hidden in vaccines backed up by his companies. So there's that. At least Jobs isn't called a mass murderer.
Gates got to Jobs before he could retaliate.

  • Apple reports $58.3B revenue in Q2, shows growth despite COVID-19

How wacky: the price of AAPL went up 2% late in the day before the announcement and dropped 2% after the good news.  Oh well, must be that old "buy on the rumor, sell on the news" thing.
It's the lack of guidance that makes investors uneasy. People are looking for a light at the end of the tunnel and didn't get one.

Light at the end of the tunnel is a vaccine for the virus.
I mean sure but not what I am talking about. Investors are looking for stability and hoping to see that in guidance. The lack of guidance is a lack of stability.
It doesn’t help how politicized Covid-19 has gotten. It’s not just the getting people well and getting people back to work, it’s the risk of fallout, retaliation against countries, or political parties due to their behaviors, actions, or inactions, depending on what side of the aisle you’re shouting from, during the pandemic.

  • Don't count on reports of a delayed 'iPhone 12'

    Spot on DED!

I still don’t believe Apple is dropping a 5G handset this year. The infrastructure is still lacking in major cities with large populations of premium smartphone purchases.

Also, has anyone addressed why so many rumor mills keep using iPhone “12”?  Historically it’ll be an “S” model, so iPhone “11s” or simply the “next iPhone” would be closer to reality.

  • Tips and tricks for mastering the iPad Pro Magic Keyboard

I wish that Apple had done a better job directing first time users to some type of setup or guide.

There’s practically nothing in the box aside from the standard warranty info and a four picture setup guide that shows how to open/close the keyboard and slap in/remove the iPad from it.

The first 15 minutes of setup were incredibly underwhelming, nearly to the point of disappointment until I finally found the user guides for it, General trackpad use, and a refresher on gestures on support.apple.com

The fact that you can plug a USB accessory into the Magic Keyboard ultimately means that the smart connector is actually a USB connector (or has USB capabilities,) which opens up a ton of possibilities.
The USB-C port on the Smart Keyboard is power only. You can not plug anything and expect it to transmit data to the iPad through it. Apple states as such in their user guide for it.

What AI is pointing out is that you can run power through the keyboard and use the USB-C on the iPad for other accessories.
