  • Review: Doqo adds a keyboard, trackpad, battery, & USB-C hub to iPad Pro

I am perplexed why Apple has not come out with one of these themselves and instead seems to be handing off the segment to third parties.   But typically, if I have a choice between Apple and a third party product, I'll go with Apple every time.  Unfortunately, that is not an option.

I am also perplexed why it was given a rating of only 2.5 out of 5.   Is it because they didn't like the keyboard?   Maybe its too thick?  Or, is it because it compares unfavorably to a MacBook Air?   If it's the latter, that is simply an unfair comparison when used for rating the product (although the comparison itself must be made).   But, the truth is:  seldom will a multi-use product compare favorably to one designed to fill a limited, specific purpose.   But, in this case the user can take satisfaction from the product's deficiencies as a laptop when they pop it out of the case and use it as the world's best tablet.
Why would Apple develop an case that turns your iPad Pro into a thick MacBook with legacy ports?

  • Neil Young rails against 'Fisher-Price' MacBook Pro audio for music production

OK, boomer. What kind of sound does he spect from a 1.62cm slab of aluminum. I listened to the Podcast and he just sounds like a grumpy grandpa that only compare how good everything was when he was young. Just expending his last days being miserable, good for him.

  • Apple says a common charger would handicap innovation, inflate waste

    apple ][ said:
The EU has zero jurisdiction over the USA, and I reject all of their ridiculous anti-innovation, anti-freedom, anti-consumer, anti-tech and anti-business proposals.

They can go stuff their miserable ideas where the sun doesn't shine.

The notion that a bunch of EU corrupt bureaucrats who know nothing about tech and have never created anything useful in their entire lives shall decide standard charger rules for everybody to follow is something that all American companies should flat out reject and simply tell them all to go and take a hike.

A company should be free to decide which tech and which standards to implement in their own products and Apple has been doing just fine for many, many decades without any EU bureaucrats deciding how Apple should make their products.

I trust Apple infinitely more than the EU. I don't have many good things to say about the EU.

I use USB, I use USB-C, I use Lightning, hell, I still use Firewire on a few older devices I have.

This dumb EU idea will definitely stifle innovation. If they want to live like cavemen, then go right ahead, but leave the US out of it, because we will not abide by their rules.

    The EU can get lost.
You seem to be too angry at some people whose decisions won't affect you in any shape, way or form on your daily life... Make sure you don't get a heart attack while writing these type of comments.

  • Apple decision to skip congressional hearing on China draws swift rebuke

This guy is joke, no substance or coherence in any of his arguments, just want to fulfil his wet power dream of interrogating Tim Cook.

  • Editorial: Apple isn't revamping its HomeKit team, but maybe it should

I'm happy with Homekif in general, it works reliably most times, with a fairly simple set up. Siri on the other hand is such a pain! Success rate is about 75% and it doesn't under context. Why can't they add whispering options or a shut up schedule for it? I hate when every I whisper "all light off" late at night, and Siri shouts "OK, ALL THE LIGHTS ARE OFF NOW!" This is the kind attention to detail Apple used to be known for, but I guess Alexa and even Google are beating them on their own game.
