Kuo doubles down on iPhone 15 Pro having no physical buttons
lkrupp said:retrogusto said:If I can no longer press the volume buttons through fabric when the phone is in my pocket, that would be an added inconvenience, and if I can no longer glance at the ringer switch to see if the ringer is on, that too would be a step in the wrong direction. It’s hard to imagine any advantages to the user that would more than make up for these drawbacks. It’s not like the current waterproofing is insufficient for my needs.
switches - been using iPhones since the original and several since then, have not had one switch or button failure ever. Nor do I know anybody who has issue. Your mileage may vary but I think reliability is not an issue. -
Kuo casts doubt on fourth-gen iPhone SE 2024 release date
charlesn said:I would have thought the SE was an important "gateway drug" model for Apple, especially in emerging markets--sure, it's not nearly as profitable as an iPhone pro, but it gets people into the Apple ecosystem, where they're likely to stay once introduced. It was also an interesting way for Apple to repackage iPhone tech from a generation or two back as a "new" phone, so budget customers didn't feel like they were buying an outdated model. Time will tell, and I'm sure Apple's decision, whatever it is, will be driven by their consumer data. -
