  • New 16-inch MacBook Pro review: More power & more convenience for more money

From the article, "You can always use virtualization solutions if you must run Windows software, with all that entails."

This is incorrect - currently, all virtualization requires the same CPU architecture on the host as the virtual machine.  These do not exist today.  (Yes - I remember virtual PC in the PowerPC days, but that type of software does not exist today).

Please correct & update the article.
As you've already seen and admitted to, Windows can be installed. The caveats are covered under "with all that entails."

Fwiw, it's not illegal. It's unsupported, a violation of the terms of service, and not a great idea from a usability standpoint -- but it isn't illegal.
We'll have to agree to disagree about the legality.  The software comes with a license agreement that the user must agree to before installation.  It's a contract.

Same with macOS.  Do you believe it's not illegal to install macOS on non-Apple hardware?

Maybe we're being pedantic about civil vs. criminal legality, but law (contract) is still involved.

Why is the size of the Taptic engine still so big after 7 iterations? The iPhone's Taptic engine is much smaller now. It occupies so much space in the watch which could have been used for bigger battery, something that the watch really needs.
Naggy watch got to nag. You need a huge Taptic plunger to really feel it when Apple tugs on your arm to remind you to stand.
Yeah but I believe that the ratio of Taptic engine/body size for the iPhone and the watch should be similar to produce a similar strength of tap. So by that logic, the Taptic engine on the watch is too big for its size.
You should try a SS or Titanium AppleWatch - the Taptic Engine needs to be BIGGER.  I moved from aluminum -> SS -> titanium.  Taptic feedback on aluminum was AWESOME.  No much at all on the SS.  The titanium seems to be stronger than SS, but no where near aluminum.

    TB4 standard only allows/support 100W.

Isn't TB4 based on USB4 power delivery specs? Those allow 240W (as per Power Delivery v. 3.1).
TB4/USB4 does not include PD v3.1 - only an older version.  They are limited to 100W.

  • Compared: 2021 New 16-inch MacBook Pro vs. 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro

Is there max on the Unified Memory the graphics system will consume in the new M1s?  Is this something I should consider when sizing the base memory?
In the presentation they stated the graphics system could use all the Unified Memory (16GB, 32GB, up to 64GB) installed in the system.  They bragged about no other mobile graphics card coming with/having access to 64GB RAM.

  • Parallels Desktop 17.1 brings full Windows 11 support to macOS Monterey

I find it strange that Parallels keeps supporting Windows 11 on ARM, while Microsoft does not support this use case. Therefore not an option for business. VMWARE does not support Windows 11 on ARM for this reasons.
VMware does not support ARM, period!

VMware Fusion does not run on any M1 Mac.
