For the love of God, can we just once have a civil conversation around here without the 2 resident sleeper agents sowing their pro-China/anti-American propaganda seeds? 

Maybe this feature would intrigue me if Apple outfits a rumored titanium iPhone with a sapphire crystal display. Otherwise, keep that Milanese Loop away from my screen.

I don't believe this.  If anything, Apple would buy Disney's movie/entertainment section and disband the theme parks.  It just doesn't fit Apple's business.  

And let's clarify one thing, Apple would be the one doing the buying, not Disney.  It would not be a takeover/acquisition and not a "merger".

I’m curious as to when, in the common history of both companies, you think it would have even remotely possible for this to happen?  Obviously, post-iPhone for Apple. Obviously, pre-Marvel for Disney. That’s a pretty tight window there…2007-2009. And, if Jobs has survived longer than 2011, Disney would have been near the end of Phase One of the MCU, a success so lucrative that it made Disney nearly impossible for any company to acquire, much less one that is famous for the death grip they have on their wallet. A merger? Maybe, but probably not. An acquisition or takeover though? I’m not seeing it.

My friend uses her ES in the kitchen mostly as a device to tell her the weather and set timers, something her Echo dot down the hall does just as well. I don’t get the appeal in viewing ads on it 24/7. 

I never get any ads on my Echo Show. It just rotates all day between the weather, sports scores, stock prices, news, jokes, recipe ideas, and shopping lists. It feels weird to defend Amazon, but your friend needs to dig down into the settings, because you can turn all that crap off. I would have returned mine if you couldn’t, because I hate ads just as much as you.
