  • South Korean legislators urge Google to follow Apple's lead and cut app store fees

This is funny. iKnockoff users are poor and spend less money.
Well that’s an interesting assumption. I know well off programmers who have Samsung phones because they don’t like “Apple”

  • Apple paying $113M to settle multi-state investigation into iPhone throttling

I didn’t need to be educated about how batteries work. I needed Apple to disclose that they radically changed my phone’s performance characteristics, and I deserved to be a party to that decision.
Clearly you do, or you would have recognized the batt was at the ragged edge of its performance and replaced it already!

  • Judge blocks Apple from retaliating against Unreal Engine, Fortnite to remain off App Stor...

    orthorim said:
Yeah I think that Judge should simply force Apple to allow other app stores - meaning software can run on the phone that apple has no control over - and be done with it.

Apple need to give up control of the app store / allow 3rd party app stores. Yes there'll be some BS happening, just like on Android but I feel like when I buy an iPhone, for example, then I own it. I am not renting it from Apple. I own all that silicon in all that neat packaging. And I can do whatever I want with my property. I want to run whatever I want on it.
We might own the hardware but we only licensed the iOS without which, the phone is just a phone. So go buy an Android instead and enjoy the “some BS” all of your own. 🤪

  • Facebook is pushing for Apple to open up default messaging app options

    wby5 said:
Facebook sucks, FB messenger sucks and it's not better than iMessage. I'd love for Apple to make this possible just for FB to see how few people decide to make Messenger their default.
The problem is cheap companies who use messenger groups for company coms and have to cater for ppl with Android phones. I have this problem. I might add that message is generally a low standard application but has some nice features which generally are poorly executed. Facebook is relying on ease of crossing the android barrier to pull casual apple users into their world and therefore to the open world of their android partners

  • Apple uses WWDC to launch assaults on Google strongholds

I prefer Apple Maps but the inability to plot routes, with any start point is a big negative. Hope they fix that.
    Set your destination/click directions:

    the next screen says:
    To “your destination”
from “Your location” typed in blue

click on your location and type or choose you desired start point. Is that what you want?

If so, already a feature in Maps.
