  • Apple's iPhone 11 Pro used to film Selena Gomez music video 'Lose You To Love Me'

Guys it's great marketing and I'm willing to bet the directors were gonna use the new iPhones anyway and let Apple know about it to help finance the project.

You may hate the video but a few Selena Gomez fans and amateur video producers are buying a new iPhone 11 because of this.

If there were no such thing as the iPhone I would get a Pixel.
Thought you were gonna say "Pixel wouldn't exist".

  • Editorial: Samsung hasn't copied Apple TV+ yet, but it's only a matter of time

Funny comments. As if Samsung is a company that creates original ideas and never reacts to Apple. LMAO!!

This editorial is definitely not your best effort William.  Doesn't seem like a Gallagher piece.  It reads like a DED editorial except it's way, way, waaaaaaaaaaay too short to be from DED.  It's nothing more than tropes strung together to support a tenuous narrative.
Apart from ATV+ you can't think of anything Samsung hasn't copied from Apple?
If true, you aren't thinking very hard.  They absolutely copied Apple on early iPhones and iPads.  Watch? Nope.  AirPods? Nope.  Modern phones and iPads? Nope.  To base your editorial on Samsung's reliance on past copying is about as relevant as someone writing an editorial in 2019 based on Antennae-gate iPhone 4.
Apple may no longer quote iPhone sales figures, and Samsung always optimistically reports numbers of phones made rather than actually sold.
You gotta source for that little nugget?  Afaik, Samsung never reported their numbers and both companies record their sales in almost the exact same way.  Shipped.

I seriously doubt Samsung would introduce a streaming service.  They have no reason to do so.  You're right that they have the same large audience that Apple does.  Though they don't have the same need for services that Apple does.  Samsung is a conglomerate with multiple parts.  They rely on different parts at different times to support the whole.  Sometimes phones floats the boat.  Sometimes it chips.  Sometimes it's the S. Korean government easing punishment on Samsung execs.  :D Besides, Samsung is terrible at services and their management seems to know it.  They're a better facilitator. Get all those services on their TV's seems to be a more rational goal for Samsung.

It would be really surprising if Samsung debuted a streaming service.  On the outside chance they did, I'd bet it would be a local streaming service where they wouldn't be bidding against established players for expensive content.

Besides their knockoff iPhones/iPads Here's some products you might have forgotten:

    Apple Watch and AirPods.

Sammy reads into Apple patents and craps out half-baked products to convince iKnockoff morons they "invented" something or Apple copied them.
Same reason Galaxy Fold was crapped out. We can go on forever.

The funny thing is Galaxy Gear and Galaxypods were somewhat original although half-assed attempts and then they started copying Apple with Watch icons and AirPods marketing.

    This one's embarrassing:

Another thing that strikes me about Apple video content is the utter lack of buffering.  I presume that when you pull up a content's preview/download page, the device is already backloading the content, in case you click "Buy" or "Rent"...?  Regardless, the experience is swifter than it ever was with optical media.
I'm not sure what problem you're having but there's a confusing "fast play" option in settings that may help you. When activated your Apple TV won't play a movie until it's loaded enough data to stream without downgrading the quality.
I'm not sure what problem you read in his comment. I see him touting Apple's about to load content seemingly instantaneously.

"utter lack of buffering" was the confusing part which can be read either way.

    1. It's super fast because I don't notice buffering.
    or
    2. It lacks buffering which causes video to play too soon causing hiccups.

Either way internet speed will be the deciding factor especially for 4K.
@Soli was right. You simply misunderstood what scooter meant.  It's no big deal.  Just own the mistake.  The guy was praising Apple's content loading speed.  Even if you were confused by the phrase "utter lack of buffering", the context of the entire quote should have cleared any confusion.  You can't parse someone's quote, interpret it incorrectly, and try to justify that interpretation by ignoring the context.   We all make mistakes.

Ironic post considering I didn't think it was a big deal. He made it a big deal and I find it funny. My posts still stand and can help people. In the early days of Apple TV 4K a lot of people wanted to know how to disable content loading prematurely so I like to inform people of the "fast play" option. Internet speed will be the biggest deciding factor like I said. Scooter may as well be praising his ISP.

If Apple TV AND Roku are the best in the industry then wow, Apple has no competition. No wonder they have to sell their junk for cheap or install them on your TVs.

With that said and Arcade here(and only getting better), Apple TV is very outdated. They need to stop slacking and toss an A13 chip in there!!

That would only satisfy the spec junkies. The current processor handles the demand just fine.

Sure it will handle TV+ just as well as iPhone 11 handles calls just fine. Theoretically newer iPhones could utilize and ship with the A10 chip.

I'm thinking more along the lines of gaming and future proofing. Maybe throw some AR in there. I mean do you want Apple TV 4K to run on the A10 chip forever? I wish Apple took the platform as seriously as they did iPhone or even iPad.

I understand part of the population will only ever use Apple TV for streaming but what about gamers? With Apple Arcade maybe it's time to offer a special Apple TV "Pro"?

This would also encourage developers to develop AAA games for Apple TV and finally take it seriously. (a big dream)
