  • How Apple has designed the iPhone 11 for everybody

I agree with pretty much all of this. Massive improvement in many areas over last year's phone and in areas that are useful. Lower price, too.

Major gripe is the 5W charger if that is what ships in the box but overall there is a lot to like over the XR which I got last year for the wife.

In my case there is no point upgrading due to the lack of 5G and typically my wife upgrades every three years.

Are you one of those "Fast charger" fetishists who are ignorant to the fact the technology is not ready and is burning batteries and shortening battery lifespans?

Not being mean, it just gets old that people ignore the long lists of negatives and sh** on Apple for not rushing crap to the market.

On behalf of many retirees, I would say that we do not want new hardware. We want to continue using the existing hardware that are in good or fair condition.  But we hear the bad news that iOS 13 will not support older hardware, e.g. iPhone 6 Plus.

It’s not fair because many of use just paid $30 to replace the faulty battery, or near a hundred for a broken glass.

You're complaining that your 5 year old iPhones STILL work and had updates for years and new batteries?

    HUH?!!?

You DO KNOW Apple still sells iPhone 8 which supports iOS 13. Or you guys can upgrade to iPhone 6s (same design) for cheap which supports iOS 13. You guys are making up reasons to complain.

Reminds me of the people who would bi*** that iPhones were too expensive and quoted the price of the maxed out iPhone XS Max, conveniently ignoring all other models.

The grass is always greener on the other side I guess.

It isn't for everybody. To me, that is a rash statement.
I'm sticking with my iPhone 8 simply because for my use case, removing TouchID is a huge backwards step.

Try using FaceID when wearing a full face crash helmet which btw has a BT speaker and microphone installed. I even took my helmet into an Apple store to try it out. It didn't work with a non flip-front helmet.
To use the phone I'd either have to remove the helmet or enter my passcode every time I wanted to do something on the phone other than receive calls.
To me that is a clear step back in usability.
If Apple as rumoured is working on under display fingerprint (or other non FaceID )sensors then I'll be right there in line to get the new phone.
Interesting point.  However, don't you wear gloves when riding?  So how do you interact with your phone at all, let alone unlock it?

Of course he wears gloves. He's citing a rare case scenario (does this guy live on his motorcycle?)

And when Apple introduces in-screen TouchID like he wants, he'll complain that he can't unlock it while riding his motorcycle because he wears gloves!

Apple claims (and they have a fair number of OLED patents), that while their screens are made by Samsung, they include Apple technology. I don’t know exactly what that means, but it’s somewhat different than Samsung’s screens they use for themselves, and presumably from those they sell to others, rather than to Apple.
I’d guess the panel is as said Samsung made but the display processor that communicates with gpu is apple made processing unit. It handles all the color, brightness etc adjustments.

Samsung isn't involved in iPhone development. They just own plants that fulfill orders. That's it. Anyone else (LG, Japan Display, etc.) could do this if they were capable of fulfilling the large orders Apple demands. Right now only Samsungs plant can fulfill these large orders, They have absolutely nothing to do with iPhone development. Heck, they don't even develop Samsung displays, they just fulfill orders.

Apple isn't a parts manufacturer so it would be stupid for them to open a manufacturing plant just to shut up iKnockoff trolls. The screens would also be 100% identical.

But, but, but.... I thought Samsung Galaxy was da best?????

What universe are we living in?

Congrats to Apple for aiming for top-quality.  B)
Just wait for the critics to remind us that Samsung makes these OLED screens for Apple. Those same critics also claim that Samsung keeps the top-of-the-line OLED screens for themselves and that’s why Apple OLED screens are inferior to Samsung’s own screens. Never mind the software powering those screens I guess.
You sorta just created your own controversy in your first sentence, and then responded to it.  ;) ;) ;)

His first sentence was funny and mocking iKnockoff morons.

Never met an iKnockoff moron have you?

    "Samsung develops the displays LOL!"

Even though that's not true. Samsung (NOT Samsung mobile) has dumb factories that fulfills orders. Apple DOES NOT own manufacturing plants (why the fuck should they?). By this stupid iKnockoff logic, Foxconn invented the iPhone, iPad, Nintendo Wii, Switch, Sony Playstation, Microsoft XBox etc. etc.

These are the same morons who claimed Samsung developed the A-Series chips.......

  • Amazon's AirPods competitor may include fitness-tracking features

PLEASE don't call them something stupid like AmazePods. A bunch of knockoffs are adding a "Pods" at the end of their names.

    Here's what will happen:

    1. Front page of Amazon. ( "Anti-competitive"? )

    2. "With Alexa"

    3. Cheap or free.

    4. Will spy on users and you can order crap with them.

    Bonus:
Every reviewer will call them the "better" "AirPods alternative". Will claim the knockoffs are better than the real thing. Apple sucks etc.

  • iPhone 11 Pro review - Buy for the better camera, stay for the battery life

People are calling it "a camera that has a phone".

    Thanks, I’ll pass.
Lack of a Home Button is the 100% deal breaker for me.
If I wanted an Android phone, I’d have one.
When Apple brings back TouchID (and an associated virtual Home Button), and gets rid of the notch - ie fixes most of what Jonny Ive has screwed up, I’ll be first in line - until then, my iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 will do just fine).

Again, I’m not poo-poo’ing the tech, which is superbly executed, but I’m not going to spend good money to support incompetence and (IMO) Ive’s clueless stupidity. Good riddance that he’s gone, and I have confidence in Tim Cook and Jeff Williams fixing this mess starting next year.

You even get the headphone jack everyone's complaining about. Beautiful ain't it?
