  • The TextBlade keyboard is superb, but you'll have to be patient

Basically you're agreeing with me sub-consciously. It's like a cry for help.
Well, as long as you are making stuff up, I guess you might as well go with the psychological claims too. It is a favorite of a number of the critics as they accuse Treg members of suffering from "Stockholm syndrome".  You know, anything to avoid making rational arguments.

Thanks. I read that but it is not saying much.

I have read most of the posts at WTF, but I have zero sense of WHEN GR will materialize. (Maybe I am naive but I still want to believe it will happen). Some of WT posts touch base in 1 specific thing but never provides a sense of the overall status as a whole.

Remember when they said repeatedly: we will share more this weekend, the next week, on and on, until they stopped to provide dates even for the delayed next update ?

True, it isn't saying much and I pointed that out to them. None of us know when it may ship. I'm less bothered by that than the lack of updates though, simply because I know enough about the TB to understand that they may feel it isn't ready, no matter how I personally feel about it. Problems can be out of their control, but updates are far less subject to that.

And yes, I remember the comments they made about the next update - in that thread, I documented each of those statements, when they were made, and the fact that none of them happened. They acknowledged I was correct. No idea why the same problem exists anyway.

Look at, for example, Kahunas repost above of a Waytools reply on their forum. Do you see any information there that clarifies a general release date? It is the same as every single one of their prior sprinkled updates, buried in a post on a thread on their forum, after Kahuna begs them to post something useful after weeks and weeks of lies about when the next 'official' update will be posted.
Worth pointing out how you fail to maintain your own arguments.

I mean, you make all these posts about me being paid by WayTools. Why? Because you think it sounds good, but you don't have anything to base it on other than you can't stand someone not agreeing with you. But like many who do such things, you trip yourself up when you say:

"after Kahuna begs them to post something useful"

You see, it makes no sense for someone being paid by WT to shill for them to make a PUBLIC STATEMENT saying they aren't posting enough info. But, just like your other made up accusation, you thought it sounded good to say it at the moment without realizing to were countering your other false claim.

This isn't unusual. It is quite common for critics to say at one moment that I always defend WT and then at another time, when I am criticizing WT, they'll say, "Even DBK is criticizing them". But then they go back to saying I ALWAYS defend them.

BTW, I don't beg WT to do anything. I simply point out what the facts are and what I think the proper thing to do is. Hopefully they'll agree with my insightful wisdom!

Just as I do with you :)

I remember another carrot they dangled -- Keys for Kids (where they promised/estimated/projected to donate $1 million of Textblades to school -- that turned out to be a lie.
Who on earth thought any TB would go to this program BEFORE GR?

Now, if we get GR and they don't give those away, then you can say they lied about it. Otherwise, I'm here to "courteously" provide correction to your statement.

How about multiple promised deliveries over a four year period, is that opinion or fact?
It is a fact that they made multiple estimates over a four year period, as I have acknowledged many times. It is a false statement to claim that they were all actually promises. Which I've also pointed out many times. Which means people are fine when they complain about delays. Not so fine when they claim they were broken "promises".

How about projecting a delivery when one's knowledge of one's own track record shows one's ability to make such projections for a given project to be nonexistent?  Did that happen repeatedly or not?

Well, if that is your argument, you would have to say they should never make an estimate again. If that is your position, fine. But I suspect few people would say to not give out estimates any more. So to please you, assuming you would favor no more estimates, they would displease others. Interestingly, I suspect for many things a critic has said WT should do, there was probably another critic who said the opposite, but both attacking WT over the same thing!

I have no trouble believing in the virtues of the current design or that many people have failed to grasp the value of the design package the company is sticking with.  Fact is, there is a perverse power source for all the drama in the fact that the design to all appearances seems to warrant the praise and hype.  Were that not the case people would just move on.  That may be part of the equation that has resulted in so much exposure for the company's bad practices.  A producer of generic foldable keyboards would likely just have had most of the orders cancelled and faded away after the initial fiasco.

I can pretty much agree with that - though I would also point out that a lot of the attacks on the company are unfair. I've never objected to the fair ones. Made them myself. But, confirming that many people have been unfair is the fact that, in spite of me criticizing WT myself, I have often been accused of only defending them.

Unfairness has been a primary issue for me on the internet for decades. After I first, foolishly, thought it would be a great way for people to have rational discussions with others all over the world. After a couple years I realized that wasn't going to happen no matter how nice I was to people who weren't, so I set out to stand against the crap. Most choose to ignore it. Or to just abandon places when it inevitably gets bad. And that's fine. Their decision and completely understandable. But to me, that is like letting nasty people take over anyplace and making it so nice folks don't even when to go there anymore. I choose not to let that happen without challenge.
