  • The TextBlade keyboard is superb, but you'll have to be patient

Rolanbek: Do the math. We have a CEO, Mark Knighton, who micro manages every aspect of this operation, who is widely reported to talk to each of his testers for many hours at a time and handles their tech support calls at all hours of the day and night, handles all of the PR, and is the primary financier. The journalists all report interacting with him directly. Nobody ever mentions another key player at the company, that I can recollect. Do you think that kind of guy would delegate all public communications to someone else and let them botch it so badly? Do you think Mark Knighton would empower his social media 'Waytools_Support' employee to force refund customers at will using his own judgement? And then there is the 'dialect' (I use the term loosely) of the Waytools_Support / Waytools character on AI and the Waytools forum. There arent two people in the world who 'speak' the way the Waytools screen name speaks. Its the same person, and that person is Mark Knighton.

I wondered about this Waytools_Support character as well. I'm not 100% sure exactly who this person is, since he/she never reveals their true identity (while attacking everyone of being anonymous, mind you, with five (5) additional alter-egos).

So I'm hesitant to say it's Mark Knighton. But I do know:

    • He/she has been there from day one.
    • His/her output is mostly at night (i.e., only nocturnal emissions -- making it a 'he', I guess)
    • His/her primary language is not English
    • Not sure whether he/she has a primary language
    • Likes to play victim, drama queen or passive-aggressive games
    • Always answers with a question + accusations or combination thereof (i.e., questionable accusations, accusatory questions...)
    • He/she is pugnacious, scans for any negative sounding words and pounces on it (not unlike a "rabid" person)
    • Questions are like Kryptonite to them, makes them go radio silent for days, even months.
    • If you say anything he/she doesn't like, you're in their crosshair forever (no matter what you say thereafter)
    • Similarly, he/she takes offense to any variation of "I just want to know where my stuff is..."
    • He/she clearly hates any sort of anonymity (even real names) -- since they can't dox you for public humiliation
    • He/she is a paranoid conspiracy nut who thinks there are secret cells with pseudonyms + five (5) alter-egos comprising a clandestine cabal out to destroy their company. Who are these cells? Apparently, if you ask them about "where my stuff is...", YOU are.
    • Has clear contempt for both non-customers (who ask questions even w/o orders) and customers (who has an order but refuse refund) alike
    • It's all about hate... It may seem like they like you; but really, they just hate you less
    • If one person says something, they can quote it as coming from any other critic -- because we are all one and the same, or one of the five (5) alter-egos

Speaking of children, answer me this if nothing else. Let's not get into semantics games, simple yes/no + a simple explanation. And I'm asking you Waytools -- not Kahuna or anyone else:

    • Will you honor the promise you made in your Keys for Kids marketing. If so, when?
    • If not, why not?
Yes, I have specific questions about that topic, as well as many other questions I have already posted on this thread. Many people have questions. If Mark Knighton would indicate he is ready to start answering such questions, I would re-post mine, but until he indicates such, I feel like its pathetic to ask, as it is obvious he is not going to respond.

Mark, are you aware of the 'AMA' concept? Why wont you do something like that? Start a thread 'Ask Me Anything', and then answer every question about the product, product status, shipping delays, etc.

Of course you cannot do it on your forum as almost everyone has been banned. But here is another idea: people have been banned or shadow banned (unable to post) at your forum for years. Why not offer some clemency to all of your banned customers and unban everyone? Then you can do an AMA there.

Of course, if anyone goes ballistic, you can always ban them again. So what is the downside?

I think you would find a lot of good faith questions being asked if you demonstrated some good faith efforts to reconnect with people whom you have damaged your relationship with. Until you ship the product your customers paid for, the onus is on you to re-establish credibility and trust.

Isn't that what the Rants forum was for?

Waytools (don't know your real name, so I'll just go with that):
Rolanbek - please look here at what no one has said about what nobody got.

    https://forum.waytools.com/c/Reviews

This is a marketing page. Not sure whether they can be construed as ads, which are not allowed. And nothing against TREG folks, but those 'Reviews' are skewed, as they've received a unit, albeit for testing purposes and speaks of only their units (which seems great, by the way).

For the larger majority who haven't received theirs, this is the more general consensus:

    https://forum.waytools.com/t/order-delayed-four-times-now-no-explanation-provided-on-blog-twitter-etc/295

Your language above is thankfully more civil.  However, your history of posts, even just on AI’s venue, is very different from what you now say.

“I just want to know where my stuff is.” Has long been preceded by this message -

(It won’t ship.  Don’t buy it.  But I’m keeping my order just so I can sue - for taking my money - which I won’t let them refund.)
So you take offense at anyone who wants to know where their stuff is? Don't you realize EVERYBODY who's your 'customer' wants to know where their stuff is? The vast majority of posts on your forums is just multiple variations of that question -- which you find 'uncivil'.

You posted above claiming we misrepresent your reputation. Our response -

Your own extensive posts are what define your reputation.  There is plenty that controverts your new version.

Anyone who wishes to judge for themselves what misleading has been done, can simply read your prior posts.

That is personal matter between you and Rolanbek. Don't drag us all in to act as your judge(s). I suggest you both duke it out elsewhere... as per forum guidelines. Speaking of which...

Good points worth reflecting upon from the AI Forum Rules page -

<<< Partial clippings of the AI Forum Guidelines >>>

You only recite just a few. If you're going to recite it at all, you should provide the link to the whole thing:
    https://forums.appleinsider.com/discussion/184333/appleinsiders-updated-commenting-guidelines

And you left out the FIRST rule, which I quote:

Multiple accounts per user are not allowed, nor is making a new one after a ban. We already know which of you have created new accounts after a prior ban, and you're being grandfathered in -- but don't do it again, and don't repeat the crimes that got you banned in the first place.
    Yet:
    WayTools_Support said:

A deceiver’s only work-product is false words, and only identity is anonymous.

In virtually all your posts, you repeatedly accuse several people of being anonymous users each with MULTIPLE (five of them, according to you) accounts, or alter-egos -- high-fiving one another for what... street creds, post count, was it? All a part of (as yet unamed) cabal out to destroy you. You even accused me of being a part of this anonymous gang. I have nothing against anonymous ID usage (as they do serve a purpose), but how am I anonymous? What part of Eric Peets (ericpeets) or Rolanbek (rolanbek) is anonymous?

And we are not out to get you. For me, I feel morally obligated to provide a balance (from my real world experience) to your marketing messages -- which are at best cryptic, to extremely misleading full of holes that need to be filled. I feel all potential users are entitled to get the whole, complete story before plunking down their $99, which may not be much for some, but a decent chunk of change for others.

Yet you keep making this same accusation over and over even after Mike had reassured us that no such multiple anonymous + alter-egos generating tactics exists.

I won't go over the rest of your statement, or as you said:

We won’t refute each false point.

    Except this:

When all else fails, just remember - be civil! Don't say things here that you wouldn't say face-to-faceor in front of your own children.

Speaking of children, answer me this if nothing else. Let's not get into semantics games, simple yes/no + a simple explanation. And I'm asking you Waytools -- not Kahuna or anyone else:

True, perjury charge is only if you lie to court, not if you couldn't make it court.
Nope. This has nothing to do with that. It has everything to do with what ordinary people do regularly - say they will do something and fail to do so through no fault of their own. That isn't a lie. It isn't perjury.

If you were to break someone's teacup, but the teacup owner 'forgives' you for it, the teacup doesn't automagically become unbroken. If you broke it by accident the chance of 'forgiveness' is high, while if you did it on purpose that chance of 'forgiveness' is lower. Either way, the teacup is still broken.

But I don't follow your statement above. Are you saying that your not being able to get to court -- due to your rape of getting beaten up -- will also 'forgive' you when you do commit perjury? Are you saying that getting raped and/or beat up gets you a get-out-of-jail card that works forever? I'm curious, do you already have such a card that you can make such assured statements?

    That's up to them.
Of course, I know it's up to them. That's why I asked you to just ask.

My personal opinion is that they should stick to their forum. Why?

We'd like to know, but some of us don't keep their forum page open 24/7. And even when I visited the forums frequently, I often could not find their updates. So, since it seems they're posting much more often here than on WTF, maybe they can do us expatriates a solid and just copy and paste their answers here.
