System 7's virtual memory implementation was indeed terrible -- but it wasn't even an option if you had a pre-68030 Mac (and there were plenty that would run System 7).  If your Mac didn't have a PMMU that meant most likely you were limited to at most your 4MB of physical RAM.

Does it really matter? Intel Mac will be gone within a year.

So far, m1 GPU performance is excellent compared to onboard offerings, but not even close to competitive with recent GPUs from either AMD or nvidia.  Will Apple improve GPU performance to the point where it doesn't matter before they ship PCI GPU support?  Maybe, but I wouldn't bet on it, and it doesn't make sense for Apple to require first-party only graphics the way it does for CPUs.

Disappointing to see that the new mini is almost 10% wider (and 6%) taller than the 5S / SE 2016.  Oh well.  I'll probably buy one anyway.

The iPhone SE 2020 confirms what we already knew about Apple's mobile strategy: Apple is no longer interested in innovating when it comes to form factor.

Any recommendations for a simple, functional USB switch?  KVMs seem to be a thing of the past but I still need to share a workspace between my Mac and my work laptop.
