Spotify legal chief calls Apple a 'ruthless bully' that stifles competition
avon b7 said:Business revenue and market share of the different complainants are irrevelant to the issues being looked at. It is important to separate them.
The investigations will decide if the compaints themselves have any grounds or not.
The EU already appears to have found that Apple is in fact breaching competition rules.
The size of Spotify played no role in that decision.
The other investigations will run their course and we'll see what happens. -
AirPods Max won't support Apple Music lossless over Lightning, HomePod also left out
Nice planning Apple.
HomePod I understand
HomePod Mini.. ehhhh I’d let it slide.
But AirPods Max?!?!
Hopefully WWDC will be full of new audio gear announcements. Apple will destroy competitors if they announced:
Beats line with Apple Music lossless support and spatial audio
AirPods/Pro/Max with Apple Music lossless support
HomePod with Apple Music lossless support
I understand most people won’t tell the difference but it will be marketing genius for both hardware and Apple Music. -
Apple denied Microsoft request to bypass 30% commission for Office

I believe if you don’t update the game it doesn’t play(there was an update post removal). The app may be on your iPhone but won’t actually let you play it.I can tell you don’t play Fortnite(not a negative statement). This game gets updates frequently and they have “seasons” which are updates. Everyone has to be on the latest version to play. Apple didn’t get the latest version. When you don’t have the latest version a pop-up asking you to update appears, basically a gatekeeper. -

New study finds that Night Shift does not improve sleep quality or quantity
dysamoria said:EsquireCats said:Apple has tacitly inferred a lack of evidence for this feature to help sleep, instead on iOS states that it is easier on the eyes. Also the health app’s health checklist and the specific sleep portion of the app makes no mention of it whatsoever. macOS states "This may help you get a better night's sleep."
That said, for some, it is a reminder to put down the phone.
Dark mode is the only reason I want to update iOS beyond iOS 12.x. What’s stopped me so far is fear of performance loss (which I’m getting anyway, even without OS changes, because online services are getting sluggish: looking at you, autocorrect & keyboard lag)... ...but the worst issue is the loss of Safari iCloud sync with my Macs stuck at High Sierra.pulseimages said:I use Night Shift 24/7 as the blue light hurts my eyes. Here’s an iPhone hack for sensitive eyes:

Choose “reduce white point”.
Now when you triple click the home button or side button (FaceID devices) you’ll have access to even lower brightness than previously available.
