Apple shutting down Sign in with Apple support for Epic Games accounts
ArianneFeldry said:Apple is stealing money from their users.
If you signed up through Apple, then bought V-Bucks through the App Store, and never created a full Epic account for use with other devices. You're screwed. Apple disabling Sign in With Apple leaves these users with nothing.
This is incredibly screwed up for Apple to do this, and completely sours me on the service knowing that if Mozilla gets their developer certification cancelled for whatever reason, my Firefox account is gone along with my Pocket account.
What a boneheaded move from Apple, this move only harms the users of the app, not Epic.
Not sure why you blame Apple for Epics scumbaggery but ok.
As long as Mozilla or Firefox don't break the rules you have nothing to worry about. Hasn't happened in 12 years. Most likely Mozilla will go out of business before Apple kicks them out of their platform. Either way you lose their features. -
Mark Zuckerberg says Apple's App Store 'deserves scrutiny'
baederboy said:Facebook will probably get replaced by something else in not that long anyway. Any one (most) of college age or younger no longer uses Facebook and even those in their late 20's rarely use it anymore. At least in my experience as a Professor and father of teenagers and twenty-somethings.
No, lots of young people still use Facebook. Like 95% of them. When I meet girls they always say "what's your Facebook".....Not "number" or "email" etc. -
New animated Apple TV+ movie 'Wolfwalkers' trailer debuts
Khalil Gibran's The Prophet is one of the greatest movies of all time, produced by this studio. The only thing that worries me is that Moore's movies are not mainstream here in the U.S. No one watches them here. Song of the Sea was also amazing.
If Apple can take Wolfwalkers mainstream, THIS is a studio I would not mind Apple acquiring. Their movies are like literally watching art in motion. -
Apple Arcade game developers talk about experience with Apple
canukstorm said:Beats said:Been saying the obvious for years. Apple needs an in-house game studio.
@Chasm rounding together the best indie partners for an Apple game studio is a great idea and easy to do.
Apple hates spending money but they might have to drop 1 billion for Capcom, Namco or someone huge. I know indie studios who are cranking out HITS who would sell for half that price. Nintendo would be the ultimate but that would be hard for various reasons and cost more than 1 billion.
Apple also needs to drop the "family friendly" crap. With parental controls, just don't show the kids inappropriate games. This way they can acquire Rockstar or have an exclusive online-only GTA. That would make Fortnite look like a ghost town in comparison.
I meant they don't like spending money on acquisitions. Wouldn't Nintendo theoretically be their biggest acquisition ever?
Edit: Just looked it up. It would cost Apple roughly around $40 billion.
