  • Smart TV adoption outpacing streaming devices like Apple TV, Roku

When 99% of TVs include "smart" features I'm not sure Apple can beat that. Apple dragging it's feet and treating Apple TV like their adopted child doesn't help.

  • Compared: Google Pixel 4a vs iPhone SE

Pixel 4a is simply OK. Nothing really outstanding about it.

    SE is the better device.
Well of course if you are an iOS user you would feel that way. But for people who regularly buy and use Android phones, the Pixel 4A is a compelling device. Or at least it would have been had it been released 3-4 months ago. Instead, Google made the absolutely insane virtual-signaling decision to delay it to show solidarity with the protests (and then had to push it back a couple more times for more legitimate reasons). But now that very good midrange phones that have similar specs to the 4A but will have the Qualcomm 690 chip - which is almost as fast as the 730 but has 5G - are on the way in a few weeks it will soon be nowhere near as compelling.

Had Google put the much faster non-5G variant of the Qualcomm 765 in it and still managed to hit a similar price point, then maybe it would have been compelling for the sake of pure performance. As it is, I would really suggest Android mid-range Android device fans wait on the Nokia 7.3 or a similar phone on the way from Motorola.

Even iKnockoff users have shown their true colors as they blew their stimulus checks on Apple products!

Apple reported record users and switchers after the stimulus check! LOL

Wonko, the first thing I thought of, and you beat me to the punch.

”It looks like you’re trying to use me like Siri, can I help?”
If you are going to imitate a voice assistant, at least imitate one that actually works! Siri is getting better but still has a long way to go to compete with Google Assistant.

The myth has been disproven for years. They all excel at different tasks.
On device audio processing coming in iOS 14 is going to make a big difference. If you have a weak or flakey network connection Siri can have a lot of issues. Sometimes I’ll even have a strong, fast connection, via WiFi or LTE, and I’ll try to say something to Siri and it just sits there like it’s analyzing what I said. Sometimes I can turn airplane mode on and off to fix it, sometimes not. That should all hopefully be fixed in iOS 14. Hopefully that is coming to HomePod and tvOS too.

They also need to work on Siri for HomePod. There is way too much shit I ask that Siri just comes back with “I can’t get the answer to that on HomePod”. Yet you can ask Alexa or Google Assistance the same question and they’re able to give you sufficient verbal answers. Most frustrating, sometimes, after it says you can’t get the answer on HomePod, you’ll ask Siri on your phone and the response it gives is all text! Why couldn’t it have read that back to me?

Apple should be ashamed of themselves for creating something that is on par with the knockoffs. Apple should be at least 2 years ahead of the knockoffs. Apple needs to update siri and Homepods ASAP already.

The myth that "anti-Apple company X is better" has been dis-proven multiple times but it will not die until Apple is 10x more efficient.

Who wants to bet that "Anti-company X is better" will hit Apple Silicon? Apple is held to a higher standard than the copycats.

  • Apple Watch 'Series 6' to include new blood oxygen detection

    I don’t understand how the watch will be able to determine this data, but it’s pretty cool. I love the watch and will definitely be upgrading this year. So far, I’ve had the Series 2 and currently the 4, both Nike editions. So I guess the next logical one should be the 6 ߘ䦡mp;nbsp;

The only thing I don’t like about having an Apple Watch is it’s negative effect on my iPhone batteries. I STILL have to charge my phone every night. I did an experiment recently and shut off Bluetooth entirely for a whole day. The difference is huge!

I think much of the user base has to charge their phone every night. Did not notice a difference with battery life on my phone when I got my S4 Watch 2 years ago. BT is always on anyway just so it can connect with the car and the AirPods and a BT speaker.

Personally, I've never been able to get a second day of normal usage out of the battery. Sometimes on a weekend or vacation where I'm not using the phone as much, but never during a normal day. For me, battery improvements need to be in daily increments. Does me no good if I can get a day and half out of the battery.

Turning off Bluetooth and wifi makes a huge difference. I typically use Airplane Mode as a wireless toggle switch.

Stinks of data mining and exploitation.

This is the fragmentation you Apple haters wanted. Now you got it.
