I can wait. I worked for Apple in purchasing for 12 years, and never quite got why people would camp out overnight to be the first to get a shiny new Apple product. Sure, they do a great job of pumping demand. But I can make do with my previous gen devices for a month or two.
Many people buy new iPhone as early as possible. Because they have a special purpose using the iPhone.
They have a special purpose for the iPhone 14 that the iPhone 13 couldn't handle???

I can't see why Apple isn't actively engaged with the Chinese government to persuade them to allow the Pfizer vaccine and with Pfizer to acquire about 350,000 doses at-a-time to get everyone at Foxconn vaccinated.  Like, three months ago!
Xi believes that reliance on Western medicine will be seen as a failure of his Government, hence why China is still fucking around with their own mRNA vaccine, as their Sinovac vaccine is decidedly ineffective in comparison to Western mRNA vaccines.
Exactly. Also, I suspect apple is discovering they have far less influence with the Chinese government than they did back in 2010. The ‘good old days’ are gone for as long as Xi is in power.
Well, consider what US government did to Huawei, CCP is actually very considerate to Apple.

    Is this intellectual property theft?

I think this charge will return Twitter to its original purpose.

  • Foxconn to dodge China lockdown, move iPhone production to India

Why is AAPL crashing with this good news?
Because it will take a while to move some of the production of the Pros out of China.

Really Apple has stupidly kept too much production in China - they should've moved away from China long ago - I've been writing Apple telling them that for years.

I'd personally prefer moving production to a facility in a non-BRICS country even if labor and transportation costs are higher - there's no telling what authoritarian or quasi-authoritarian governments will attempt next - their policies and restrictions just aren't entirely rational.

Then again, I'm an outsider again - I've sold my Apple after all these shenanigans and will wait until some Pro production is moved out of China.

This is the last thing Apple needs for the holiday season - especially with Pro units already backlogged.

Consumers only have so much patience - who knows how many unit sales will be lost to Apple because buyers need to have something to wrap at Christmas?
You don't know investors are looking into the future. If they see in the future Apple can make more money, they will invest more in AAPL and raise its price. A single person opinion does not count in the stock market.

  • Apple can't make enough of the iPhone 14 Pro to meet demand

Amazing really considering most countries are experiencing a cost of living crisis with energy and interest rates spiralling upwards. The fact that people still prioritise £/$/€ 1000 phones is quite surprising.
The cost of a phone is a fraction of the cost of living. If it gets upgraded every 3 years on contract, it's $25/month:

    https://www.att.com/buy/phones/apple-iphone-14-plus.html

This is an insignificant cost compared to $300/month on food, $1000/month on rent, $200/month on transport/expenses. If someone has $3k/month after tax, more than half is on the main living costs. An iPhone is less than 1% of monthly income.

Apple is in pretty much the best possible market (high volume, premium margins, affordable for billions of people) with the best product, no matter the market conditions.
I am paying over $110/month to AT&T for two lines. That is over four times more than a iPhone.
