  • Apple in talks to license Google Gemini AI for iPhones

The most interesting point would be who contacted who at first?
The more advanced AI is, the less relevant the web search service will be. Therefore, I would not be surprised if Google contacted Apple at first.

Apple is really behind on AI and Apple should feel uncomfrtable with the current situation.
I guess you missed MM1 as well.

And this MM1 with 30b parameters does not seem to be ready?

The more advanced AI is, the less relevant the web search service will be. Therefore, I would not be surprised if Google contacted Apple at first.

For short term, it would be a win win situation for Google and Apple if Google pays a specific annual fee to Apple as Google already does for their Chrome on iOS.

However, AI is an uncertain technology without clear pictures how AI will shape the future.

But following questions to be answered:
    1. How would this corporation affect the privacy? (AI with "open" source and privacy are usually a contradiction).
    2. What additional benefits (not money or monetized benefits) could Apple get in those corporations?

I think that Apple wants to run their own in-house SLLMs on device (Small LLMs).
This news is all about running cloud-based AI.

Gemini would make more sense than OpenAI or Claude because Apple has already used Google´s cloud service.

But honestly.... People kept saying Apple has some weapons as they purchased more AI enterprises than other tech enterprises.
Apple lags behind on AI based on LLMs.

Car project cancellation, $490 million loss, and this indictation that Apple has managed their AI resource poorly..

Apple is really behind on AI and Apple should feel uncomfrtable with the current situation.

  • New Apple AI training method retains privacy, and could make a future Siri more flexible

According to Bloomberg, Apple has been in negotiations with Google (Gemini) and OpenAI (ChatGPT).

If this should be true, then do I understand correctly that Apple would prefer Gemini or ChatGPT over their own AI-trained model?

Does Apple plan to integrate Gemini/ChatGPT with Siri?

If these negotiations should be true, it would indicate that Apple is really far behind on AI.

Of course, it depends on who contacted who at first like Google did with their Chrome on iOS.

Please just F**k off with AI

I am tired of hearing about it

It's like Siri all over again
But Siri is really stupid. We need to mention Siri continuously till Apple gets the reality that Siri is useless as of today.
Siri needs to be upgraded ASAP.

  • Evercore tells investors not to abandon Apple

    Hear Hear...
Evercore said on the 4th of March 2024 that AAPL is removed from their "outperform" list.
Now, Evercore is appealing that investors should stick to AAPL for long term.

But the recent moves and rumors are clearly showing that AAPL feels under pressure.
Their ad business on App Store, ads on TV+ need to be realized to cover all potential losses from their sideloading and potential $20 billion wipeout in case Google loses their antritrust case.

The EU made the AAPL´s core value and business weaker than ever. Thanks to the EU (NOT!).

Let´s see how Tim Apple responds to his growth strategy (Does it ever exist?).
