  • Amazon narrows the field of candidates for its $5B second headquarters to 20 cities across...

    Personally, I think Raleigh.

    Centrally located.
    Huge high tech presence existing.
    Interstates out the ying yang.
    Rail
    Moderate climate.
Younger dynamic cross section of workers.
Plenty of larger, well located land tracts.
    Right-to-work state.
    I am prejudiced.

    Do not underestimate right-to-work.

Seeing how I like to drive, I would love to be one of those drivers.  This has got to be one of the coolest jobs around.

  • Apple sticking with climate change fight despite Trump administration regulation loosening...

Climate change is real. To stop further deterioration is not only USA's job with regulations to help slow down but every country and humans on earth must participate. One big problem is exploding over population and with medicine and with cure of deadly diseases, people don't die as many contributing to over population and adding to environmental impacts. Best thing is either control population or kill human race from earth. So, earth is left as beautiful as it was before human became smart to screw it up.
I applaude any company or individual that wants to improve the environment at their own expense or discomfort.
A change in policy in Washington should not dissuade do-gooders from continuing to do good - just shut up about it and do it.

I like your last sentence, but...
Who made humans the "designated survivor"?  We certainally have not been in the past, that is, if you believe in current science.

I'm sort of hoping Professor Russel will explain how paying taxes per the law, and thereby at a higher rate, is 'immoral'.
Perhaps re-read article, get some education what tax is and how it is applied and apply logic instead of asking for explaining basics. It is not higher or on pink paper that you may or may not like - it is for the fact that you are ALLOWED to do business and take revenue somewhere. There is no "option to pay... or elswhere".
This country bound policy that apparently wants to play fair for other business that take revenue and pay taxes it in New Zealand. Simple?
Maybe you should have taken some English lessons before posting? Just an idea.

    Anyway,
if you are unhappy with how much taxes a company pays and it's illegal you sue them and/or seize their assets, if it's legal you get the tax code changed.
Whining about big bad companies not paying more that the tax code says they should is idiotic.

I'm guessing maciekskontakt doesn't comprehend sarcasm very well...
