  • You had mail: AOL finally discontinues dial-up Internet service

I think their popularity exploded when they went to a flat price instead of charging by how long you were connected.  I worked with someone who racked up a $300 bill in their first month (even with AOL giving warnings about excessive use)

  • Nobody is going to send you unsolicited messages for remote work

The phishing scam I'm curious about are those that claim that they have accessed all your devices and have videos of you watching porn that they'll send to all your contacts if you don't seen them BTC within a set timeframe of opening the email. On a Venn diagram where is the intersection for "falls for this scam" and "knows how to send money via bitcoin"? I feel like those circles wouldn't intersect, but maybe I'm wrong.
I receive those and they contain a picture of my house taken from google street view from 2011 along with other publicly available information.   I could imagine it might actually fool someone who was watching a lot of porn (I only watch a small amount)

  • If you have interest in a folding iPhone, here's how to tell Apple

Prior to selling off my AAPL shares, I figured anything with big profit margins would be fine no matter how stupid.  Now I no longer care about stupid ideas that may turn into stupid products.

  • Developers can now try special offers to persuade subscribers to stay

I often start cancellation process with various services and frequently get discounts.    This is going to be a great way to attempt to get a lower price on just about any subscription.   I wonder if it will apply to Apple’s own subscription offerings.

  • Proton lawsuit targets Apple's grip on iPhone apps & payments

As a user and a shareholder, I like the walled garden.  Keep out scumbags and keep profits rolling in.   I also like Proton but I’m sliding with Apple on this one.   Proton should too because End to End encryption can be broken if a bad actor gets on the user’s device.
