  • President Biden upholds potential Apple Watch ban

This shows why frivolous lawsuits continue.  Even the Whitehouse cannot see the sad situation for what it is.  "Oh, a small firm is filing a patent lawsuit?  We must protect the LITTLE GUY by not intervening in this fight!"  Or so they tell themselves at the Whitehouse. No one in power cares at all that these sort of lawsuits, so often filed in EAST TEXAS (which supports patent trolls),  are often without merit from tiny companies who are not innovating but instead seeking a financial reward.  And the fact that nothing ever changes proves that the American people themselves are complicit in all this because nobody is screaming to have the situation changed except some of us in an AppleInsider forum.

It's totally and utterly beyond belief.

Folks, you should join me in telling Apple how BAD the new System Settings UI is here:

Seriously, I am a firm believer in submitting feedback.  I did that a lot when the butterfly keyboard was alive and the SD card slot was absent.  Guess what?  They came back!  So yeah, I do believe our feedback matters.

I refuse to upgrade macOS from Monterey to Ventura because of that bad UI alone.  Snazzy Labs is with me.  Are you?
I'm very happy that it's now inline with iPadOS. The fact that I had to learn a slightly new setup after 20 years isn't an issue, especially since it's well organized and I still search for anything I can't quickly find. Bring on the switchers!
I got the same sort of response when I expressed my dislike for the Butterfly keyboard.  I got the same when I moaned the lack of the SD card slot.  Indeed, I was mocked back then for NOT having been "a switcher".  In the end, guess what happened?

Some things are not good enough to provoke us to be a switcher.  Just because it is "inline with iPadOS" doesn't mean it is right or good for MacOS. Watch the Snazzy Labs video linked on page 1 of this thread for all the details of why the new System Settings UI is very BAD on macOS.

    AppleInsider,

The article is not detailed enough and requires us to make assumptions, which I don't like to do.

Is this talking exclusively about macOS Ventura?  An OS version I happily have NOT upgraded to because I like Monterey better? :-)

Or will DropBox dump its awful new version onto us Monterey users too?

If the ticket to avoiding trouble is using Monterey, I am happy to stick with it.  I strongly dislike the facelift of System Preferences in Ventura.  Older is better.

  • Berkshire Hathaway now owns 5.8% of public Apple stock

That comment implies you don't own any AAPL stock.  Tisk! Tisk! :-)

AAPL has been a smart buy for over 20 years.  I'm surprised at how many of my fellow Mac fans still don't own a single share.  My first purchase was back in 1999. Last year, I purchased some BRK-B for the first time.  No dividends like AAPL, but something I should have purchased long ago.
