  • Hands On: uBar for the Mac shrinks your Dock and makes it work harder for you

OK, I retract my earlier enthusiasm.  After several hours of working uBar drove me nuts.  It slowed my workflow dramatically.  My initial reaction I now put down to novelty but I now think tidying up my dock is the better way to go.

  • Autodesk dropping support for Alias and VRED in macOS Mojave over OpenGL deprecation

I agree with Volcan above.  Horses for courses I guess, if folks want to use Autodesk products get a PC, Windows 10 is a great OS as is macOS.  I have PCs and Macs and use whichever is best for the use I need.  The nice thing for me is I if GPU performance isn't required  I can run all my PCs from my Mac's screens using either Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac or sometimes from within VMWare Fusion again using Remote Desktop with the PC version that's built in.  The only caveat for my set up is all client machines have to run Windows 10 Pro as for some stupid reason MS chose to prevent RDT functionality on Home versions.  There is a hack but very iffy.

OMG That is Sooo easy thank you.  I never knew that!  Command Shift Period works so much faster than using Transmit which is how I've been doing it for years!
I wonder how many more of these little gems are lurking in OSX.

I only recently realized that by holding 'option' while right-clicking on a file in the Finder, you can copy the pathname of a file rather than the file itself.
And I only last year discovered that sort by a single attribute in a folder requires doing twice, once without option held then again with option to align the same attribute or else you have a sub sort you may unaware of.  It used to drive me nuts until I found this out.  This was embarrassing after starting with on Macs in 1984 lol. Let's just forget about Apple ][s for now :)

Does Apple even know how not to make a profit? ;)

With the amazing Sony Alpha cameras and iPhone quality Canon and Nikon must be scratching their heads. All my Canon gear is for sale. Loving the a7 iii.
Meh. Not so thrilled about Sony’s work. Neither is the rest of the camera buying public. While Canon has just over 50% of the camera market, and Nikon about 35%, Sony is still stuck at about 5%.
Sorry this is OT but have to respond to that.  I should qualify that by saying I am talking high end gear and I think those numbers are changing fast in that arena.  Perhaps you should test an Alpha before deciding. The new sensors are sci-fi level.  Plus it is a full frame mirrorless beast made of all metal.  I've been shooting Canon for decades and have a lot of L lenses.  Nice thing is the Canon lenses all mount on the Sony (EF and EF-S) and have 100% functionality including continuous AF in 4K video and up to 120 fps HD.  Not to mention eye tracking let alone face tracking.  This all thanks to the Metabones V adapter.  You should check out all the reviwers who have been Canon aficionados comments on testing the new Sony a7 iii.  Here is just one https://kenrockwell.com/sony/a7-iii.htm. Just look at those images!  This is only Sony's entry level full frame too!  Want to buy a well loved but now obsolete 5D iii?  ;)
