Coincidently ...  This happened just minutes ago with the HomePod we have on the Kitchen countertop at one end near a wall.  The countertop opens to a great room plan so a massive area to fill with sound.  I was thinking NPR news sounded a bit muffled and had too much bass.  On a hunch I moved the HomePod a few inches and a few seconds later the sound improved dramatically and was crystal clear.  I don't know if I forced a recalibration of the beam-forming which caused the improvement due to a glitch in its set up or if it literally needed to be moved because of bad positioning in the first place.  Either way it was a dramatic change in the eq.

I did stumble across an alternative method recently.  All you need is a daughter to leave her nice MacBook Pro that has an optical drive out in the rain with the lid open for a few days.  Then she needs to plug it in while still wet just to ensure the mother board, battery and monitor are totally and utterly destroyed.  You can't let her dry it carefully for a few days first as it just might work.  Then all you have to do is remove the optical drive and buy a USB dual cable optical drive container on Amazon.  Voila you now have a $3,000 external CD/DVD you can plug into your own Mac that as no optical drive using two USB ports. /sobbing gently

Playing with the new Handbrake I am seeing >4:1 compression using H256 on both Ultra HD and 1080P with no discernible visual difference.  I tried the built in Apple Ultra 4K and created my own and saw a dramatic slow down using the prebuilt Apple setup over my own with no visual change or little size difference (Apple was a tad smaller) so it is worth experimenting playing around with. This on a 6 Core late 2013 Mac Pro 32 GIG RAM so no H256 dedicated hardware help.

What do you mean?

Microsoft has a cut-off on the screen size of a tablet on which you can run Office 365 for free. For devices above the threshold size, you need an Office 365 licence to use Office meaningfully.

Based on xenochron's post, it appears that any tablet with a screen size greater than 10.1 will need to get a licence to use Office 365 fully.

Essentially, he's suggesting that the advantage of having the 9.7" over the 10.1" or 12.9" is that Office can be used for free.

I did not know about this!
