Rumored Mac Studio trade-in points to possible refresh during WWDC
9secondkox2 said:timmillea said:The Mac Studio is a design monstrosity and should never have been produced by Apple. I agree that it was probably an interim product before the Apple Silicon Mac Pro could be released. Even so, it was a terrible mistake, tarnishing the design credentials of a design-focussed brand.
A 15" MacBook Air, if true, would be a further dilution of the brand. The MBA is a small and light laptop that fits in an envelope.
Since Sir Jony Ive left, Apple appears to have lost its way.
There is a momentum from previous successes but any more crap from Apple will start to impact. Why Cook didn’t do more to keep him, I’ll never know. Outside of jobs, Ive was THE soul of Apple. It’s definitely a different Apple now and not for the better. But… Jobs and Ive were so amazing, influential and competent at passing down their ethos that Apple is still and will continue to be far and away ahead of everyone else. Just wish it had the same level of care. -
Leaker corroborates hole-punch camera for 'iPhone 14 Pro' models
Is anyone going to point out to @mikepeterson that he typed “Thursday corroborated the reports, claiming that the "iPhone 13 Pro" models will...” Rather than “iPhone 14 Pro”? If AppleInsider is hiring copy editors, I’m interested. 😃 -

Apple burns early iPad Pro adopters, loyal customers with Magic Keyboard incompatibility
thedba said:A whole lot of chest thumping, shirt tearing, soap box standing going on here. Before throwing out your magic keyboards circa 2018 can you all wait and see when the new iPad Pro comes out?
Unless Apple has intentionally displaced the 3 pins on the back of the iPad Pro 12.9, I don’t see why it still won’t attach and you still won’t be able to type on the older keyboard.Chances are you won’t be able to fully close it and automatically put your iPad to sleep. That’s it. Typing with it should not be a problem unless someone can confirm that Apple will intentionally disable keyboard functions inside the OS.elijahg said:Unfortunately decisions like this are causing Apple to burn through goodwill and loyalty built up over many many years. Over the 25 years I've been using Macs they built up quite a bit, but mine is dangerously close to empty. Several friends have run out and abandoned Apple entirely. Cook forgets that without the loyal Apple customers that stuck with them in the '90's before he was on the scene, Apple wouldn't be here now. At the hands of Cook Apple is becoming typical of the big, lethargic profit rather than customer focussed companies we used to ridicule on these very forums.
It wouldn't be so bad if the thing wasn't so overpriced; I remember Jobs announcing the price of the original iPad to cheers from the audience, for less than the keyboard alone is now. -
New OWC Thunderbolt Hub expands Thunderbolt 4 connectivity
sflocal said:I just received my 2020 iMac and while I love everything about it, the one thing that just irks me is Apple's decision to limit it to two TB3 ports. It should have four.I have dual monitors, and two TB2 drives RAID towers. Which means for now, I can't plug in any USBc devices. WTF Apple?
