Outside the echo chamber, that's already happened. To the rest of the world, that would indeed be that.

You really believe what you just wrote??  Well then, you're in for a rude surprise when the indictments start to drop.

The FBI currently has three separate teams combing over Hunter's laptop, one dealing with money laundering, one for child exploitation, and then a third team as well.

Sure, the press is hoping they can bury the story and people will forget, but we'll see how that strategy plays out for the laptop is indeed legit and those who suggest otherwise are playing partisan politics.
This is not a forum on politics, so I will just note that you are stating as fact things that, outside of the conservative media echo chamber, have not at all been established as facts. Making my comment topical to this forum I will just add that it is welcome for search engines to not affirm that sort of unverified info by offering such things as "top results."
We’re a week and a half in to it. Give it time. If you are as open as you claim to be you should be eager to see what happens instead of silencing everyone. This is just like the left when they jumped on Trump when he said his wires were tapped. Took them 2 minutes to say no they weren’t instead of even bothering to look in to it. No apologies were given when it was proven true.
I don't think that was ever actually proven true. Also, it has nothing to do with a forum on Apple things.
It was never proven not true, and this is a perfect example of what can happen with an Apple search engine. You’re 0-2. Want to continue this discussion?

The majority do not buy  for privacy. Most don’t care about that at all.
Speak for yourself.  Regardless, privacy is one of Apple's core values and it is a competitive advantage that Apple does advertise and capitalize on.

If majority of the people "really" cared about privacy, how do you explain Facebook being one of the Top downloaded applications in the App Store?
Stupidity or vanity. Maybe even both?

This is a TERRIBLE IDEA.  I was against Apple TV+ because I don’t think Apple should be creating content.. this is much much scarier to me.  As much as I love Apple my politics don’t line up with them and Big Tech Censorship of Conservative Voices is a HUGE PROBLEM.  I don’t think Apple would play it any different from Jack Dorsey or Mark Zuckerberg.  We will see more one-sided censorship.  How ironic that 1984 was the inspiration for the Apple’s ad decades ago.. people are now getting de-platformed for “wrong think”.  Our own President is censored on Twitter!  Does Apple really wanna be doing this?  I do not like this.
For starters, it seems odd that anyone would object to Apple creating TV content, but I guess that's an issue for another thread.  As for censorship, who knows what Apple will do?  Is having another choice really such a bad thing?  Even if they did censor searches, are you any worse off than you are now?
You can be worse off. Now you have one more source for false witness. A source that has spent years building its reputation in one area now attempting to used it’s earn status in a new specialty. The default is people will automatically trust what information/results Apple presents. Political philosophy/point of view on topics is completely different than delivering a  product.

History will show that what’s being censored is mistruths, misdirection and misinformation.  It just happens there’s one major source of that above all others these past few years.
You get to moderate these forums. Thankfully you don’t get to moderate more than that. There are emails, videos, recordings, text messages, witnesses, willing to tell what they saw, heard, wrote, and you do not want them to have a voice. Meanwhile we spent 3.5 years on accusations and unnamed sources and you’re fine with that?

There are people out there that think the world is flat. Others think it is hollow with aliens living inside. Yet more don’t believe the holocaust happened. What if one of those people gained control to the levers and switches of Google or Bing. Do they have the right to decide what’s a mistruth, misdirection, yadda, yadda?

  • Early 2021 Apple Silicon iMac said to have 'A14T' processor

I, for one, am not happy about this.  Moving away from x86 to something (anything) else will break sooooo much.  All of a sudden the ability to run Windows (at CPU speed) goes away, all the programs which rely on Wine stop working (or at least working well).  I liked the 6502 (and variants).  I liked the 68K series.  I liked the PPC series.  I (eventually) liked the x86 series.  But this change...  I just don't feel good about it.  That said, perhaps the Apple CPUs will be fast enough to make emulation tolerable (unlike the x86 emulators for the PPC!)...  Perhaps.
While this is absolutely a concern of mine, do you know this for fact? Personally I’m going to wait until the product is available before I lose sleep over it.

Apple actually demonstrated its Rosetta 2 emulation for a Windows x86 3D game (Shadow of the Tomb Raider) in its July WWDC conference. Did you see it? Wasn't it fast enough for you? https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/hdzdo8/shadow_of_the_tomb_raider_running_on_rosetta_2/ <--

I'm also wondering if you are assuming that Microsoft has no intention to introduce a native Apple Silicon version of Windows. Would that mitigate your concern, since Windows apps would be able to recompile their apps to Apple Silicon version of Windows, thereby providing "native" support. Microsoft's official line on future OSs for Apple is "we have nothing more to say at this time." To me, that's exciting, as they are still considering it.
The key is getting app developers to recompile. I don’t see it happening for any of the Windows apps I’m using now. The whole reason for having Parallels on my machine is to run applications not on the Mac. I doubt they’ll use their resources to build a customized version of their application for a customized version of Windows.

I would love this rumor to be true. I have been looking for a more privacy-focussed alternative to Google Search, but the quality of search results on DuckDuckGo doesn’t quite cut it for me.
However, developing a search engine seems like a gigantic project - I agree that there would likely be more indications if Apple had indeed invested serious resources in that field.
    I’m cautiously optimistic.
I’m a big Duck Duck Go proponent. I use to have to fall back to Google for technical/troubleshooting searches but I find myself having to do that less and less. I don’t trust Google at all when it comes to political/current event searches.

While I’ll give Apple a chance if these rumors are true, I can’t imagine them being any different from Google considering the “programming”/censorship in the News app now.
