  • LinkedIn blames bug for clipboard snooping discovered by iOS 14

@Rayz2016 yes, this is an extremely complex problem I’m guessing Apple has known about for a long time. I have a feeling this is a stop gap until they are able to design a proper clipboard manager. If I were a developer of one of the current apps I would be very nervous at WWDC 2021.

I'm not an Android user, but companies discontinuing products after acquisitions is always a dick move.
I hate it when Google does stuff like that.

  • Supply chain preparing for new mini LED iPad Pro in early 2021

I enjoy my 2nd Gen iPad Pro and have no intentions of purchasing a new one. While the newest version is obviously better, there is nothing it has that I want or need. With that said if something were to happen to it, or one of my kid’s iPads this one would probably get handed down. Until then this version is doing everything I ask it to do.

What does mini LED bring to the table? Better battery life and resolution? I can’t grasp the concept of the screen being better than it is now.

  • Apple again rumored to drop charger and earbuds for 'iPhone 12'

Apple needs to UP its game with chargers -- not run away and hide.

Yeh, many people have a bunch of the crappy 5W chargers Apple has been foisting on them -- even though every phone since the iPhone8 has been able to handle fast charging from a 30Watt brick.

Apple needs to supply quality chargers.  They are as much a part of the phone as the screen.  Without the brick, not even a wireless pad will charge the phone.

But, one thing they might do is give the user the option of a USB-A or USB-C brick & cord -- partly because the USB-A connection restricts the power it can provide and is being replaced by USB-C in a number of areas such as MacBooks.
Every once in a while you make some sense.  ;)

  • New 'EvilQuest' ransomware is actively targeting macOS users in the wild

AppleInsider might also consider recommending regular OFFLINE backups of data your files in macOS.  (Offline meaning backups that are taken to external media, with the medium immediately disconnected from the computer after the backup is completed.)  Time Machine fits the bill here.  Even if you do get hit with the ransomware, there’s no reason to pay the ransom if you can restore from a previous back-up.
Problem is a lot of times the backups are hosed long before you even notice you were infected. Unless you have multiple Time Machine drives you rotate through I think you're still hosed.

I don't have the time to research at the moment, but does iCloud Drive provide any ransomware protection?
