  • Next Apple TV+ dramedy will be 'I'm Glad My Mom Died' starring Jennifer Aniston

Oooof hope they change that title. Cold as ice.
And apropos of the subject matter of the book. It's not my idea of entertainment, so it's a pass for me. It looks to be one of those series that Apple does which often gets critical acclaim without much of viewers eyes. There's many people like seeing others misfortunes whether to commiserate or criticize. Even if I don't view the material, I like that Apple does allow projects like this.

  • Redesigned iPhone 17 Pro camera may lead Apple to reposition its logo

There are a number of areas the logo can move to and fit design standards.
For Apple that number is 1.

  • Nearly one million 'Fortnite' users getting FTC refunds for unauthorized charges

The following scenarios are eligible to apply for a refund:
    • Unauthorized in-game purchases made by a minor using a parent's credit card between January 2017 and November 2018

What is it about this that merits a refund? How is any website supposed to know if a kid has or doesn't have permission to use Mom or Dad's card? I'm not seeing anything that makes it Epic's fault for accepting these charges.

It reminds me of the woman years back who did work from home and gave her young child (6yo?) her/an iPad to play with. He was able to spend thousands of dollars on power ups and video games, while her attention was elsewhere. There were parental controls in place that could have prevented the charges. That's aside from giving the kid an iPad and telling him to go play.

Go away Son. You bother me.

That might be a tad unfair, but not much. So if unauthorized game purchases by a minor blah blah, are being refunded, what is Epic required to do to prevent this? What now is the parent's role and accountability?

I'm not talking about parenting in general, but there are many areas and incidents where there are dedicated steps a parent could have taken but didn't, resulting in something bad happening. Like these credit card charges.

    Hey, I didn't know so I don't owe.

    What a crock.

  • Samsung announces 2025 monitors with preorder discounts of up to $300 off

The issue with Apple vs other displays is a 27"/5K screen vs a 32"/4K screen. I've got a 27" 5K iMac and love the screen, but for the same money as the ASD, a good 32"/4K screen would be preferable if considering that spec alone.

I'd like to see Apple make an 32" XDR Lite but that won't happen. 30" is a nonstarter. It's just not enough of a delta with a 27" screen.

  • Trump's new China trade deal is still bad for US business & consumers

    It’s a great deal- if you’re a billionaire.
Yep. And it's billionaires saying "Just hang in there. Sure it will get worse, for you, but it will get better". Half truth half lie. Yes it will get worse for us, no it won't get better.

I see that Apple is treated very unfairly.
But Apple has been "friendly" in terms of their pricing policy.
I think Apple will not be heavily affected by raising prices.
It isn't just Apple that's being treated unfairly. It's pretty much anyone importing anything into the US. I'm curious to see if the "Trump Phone" ever ships and at what price compared to the current quoted prices, since it's NOT "Made in USA" as was originally stated. The walked that back quickly. It smells like vaporware, but I hope it's not and MAGAts everywhere buy it. Well except that it also means money in Trump's pocket.

What does But Apple has been "friendly" in terms of their pricing policy even mean? You think they're not going to pass on any cost increase to the customer?

"I think Apple will not be heavily affected by raising prices." Huh? You don't think Apple paying almost a $Billion more in tariffs in one quarter isn't heavily affected by rising prices/tariffs? Or do you mean Apple will not be heavily affected, because they'll be raising prices? Either Apple doesn't raise prices and eats the increase costs, they pass them on to customers, or a little of each. You and I have a different definition of "heavily affected'.
