Apple teases OS redesign with new 'Sleek peek' splash page tagline
The Apple logo shown has a similar treatment as the Apple Card in the app. That logo changes as debits and payments are incurred. I don't think Apple would do that with this logo, but there could be instances where I'd like to see that happen.
Apple could bring back the illuminated logo in the lid of MacBooks. They wouldn't, but the colors, man. The colors moving around on a frosted white apple would be totally awesome and far out.
I'd like to see a new macOS that works sleeker and looks less like iOS, starting with the System Preferences or whatever they're calling it this week. -
White House says Trump doesn't want to harm Apple and iPhone prices won't rise
I saw that interview on YouTube. It was silly with the host not taking Hassett to task for his rank stupidity or deceit. Take your pick.
25% must be "tiny" since it's not half or 3/4 of the cost, so sure Apple will eat it and iPhones won't cost as a penny more. Let's just wait and see — it'll all just work itself out. Yeah, right.
Trump surrounds himself with intelligent people? WTF. I thought that poster for got the /sarc tag till I saw their second post. Delusional. Except for maybe two Repubs who didn't vote for the Big Beautiful Bill, no one on the right side of the aisle is trying to control moderate or influence him toward what was once "normal". Not even close.
Trump is the White House with all his vassals wearing fealty pins of the felon's likeness instead of the American flag. Trump was corrupt long before coming to the White House the first time and he's only leveled up since then. He has surrounded himself not with advisors but with enablers. An inner circle who fear him and are out for themselves like the authoritarian they serve. Hassett won't try to influence or manage him.
Trump would be a laughing stock if it weren't for the fact that he's POTUS. So he appoints Hassett as one of the "intelligent" people around him? The Spin is weak in that one. He was clearly selected for his Cult appeal. Hassett said that if Apple had a supply of iPhone somewhere that 'they have to sell them Right?" So Apple won't raise the price. Huh? Apple will eat 25% increase in cost? Any wonder why The Felon has had six bankruptcies in his private businesses? And Hassett has a PhD in economics?
As Trump gets loonier and loonier (anybody see Ol' Bonespur's speech at West Point?) and yet manages to maintain his malicious self, people like Hassett try to spin his actions as something reasonable that won't harm Apple or the American people. Neither Trump nor his administration have any interest in the American people in general other than what we can do for him regardless of the cost to us.
Big Beautiful Bill, beautiful coal. Yeah intelligent influencers. They've done a great job reining him in so far. We just have to be patient and ignore the yippies. It'll all work out. Right.
Trump is right about one thing. It will get worse (much worse) before it gets better. He'll see to it. -
California Attorney General threatens lawsuit over potential 25% iPhone tariff
$Trump continually exercises authority where he has none and abuses what authority he does have. He's done this politically since is first term and will continue to do so until he leaves office. He concerns of "making things better for America" are limited to making things better for the top richest people in American, personally profiteering America, and punishing everyone who's ever "done him wrong" or who he doesn't like.
In his personal life he's been screwing others out of monies own long before any political aspirations.
He'd demonstrated his maliciousness, his greed, and his ignorance time and time again. He fails to get any more informed as time passes. His colossally bad handling of tariffs since is first term have shone immeasurably and immediate disasterous results. Many of his stupidly ("ignorantly" isn't apt) issued EOs and bills he's pressured Republicans in to passing, i.e. the One Big Beautiful Bill won't show the havoc and damage they'll cause right away.
Many of his MAGA cult will praise him. They don't see what actual analysts and experts in the econmics fields already know – these bills and cuts due great harm to the American people and Democracy. Even when MAGA is hurt by the horrific cuts to important services, many of them will say he's the greatest President ever. Others will say WHY ME? I VOTED FOR YOU! It will be too late for them.
The backlash against the $Trump Tariff of Nottingham needs to be taken to the voting booth. Democrats need to take back at least two of the three branches or the reign of $Trump will carry on much longer than his term of office. Even thing the damage done doesn't just stop at the end of his term.
Democrats sweeping the midterms and winning in '28 won't be enough. It's been made shockingly clear that authoritarianism isn't something that happens in other countries. It happen here because enough of us didn't pay attention, didn't care, and took far too much for granted. Channel hate and discontent — and reason, sanity, and humanity are shoved to the back of the bus. -

Trump is too busy for his own tariff negotiations, so will dictate terms instead

I don't like to deal with idiots, that elected that clown not once but twice instead of putting him into a jail cell. From a country that did this mistake once before almost 100 years ago. Don't give in to fascists.
It's time we get liberated form US dominance. So liberation day was right.teejay2012 said:Does it matter what Trump says the tariff is going to be? Mexico and Canada had a fully executed trade agreement with the US, one that Trump himself negotiated, approved and signed, and 1 month into office, he tore it up. Trump changes his mind as much as New England weather. No one trusts him or the US anymore. No one trusts Trump anymore???? Like the Saudis, Qataris, and other allies in the Middle East that welcomed him with open arms this past week? And the many many nations that are trying to cut new trade deals because of the tariffs (which is the whole point of them)? All the commenters so far on this article have their heads firmly planted in the ground. You refuse to view reality for what it is. Your side lost the election in 2024 because your woke progressive policies are losers. The majority of the US wants nothing to do with men in women's sports, with sky-high inflation because of massive government spending, nor foreign wars popping up due to weak US foreign policy. We've seen clearly the stark differences between Trump's first term and Biden's, and that's why Trump won last fall. This isn't rocket science. You all will do better to accept reality sooner rather than later.
Everything he wanted to propose with trade could have been achieved with none of wild swings, billions lost or antagonising friends and foes alike, by simply sitting down with people and putting his goals on the table through civilised conversation.
There was zero need to do what he did.
I should be used to it by now, but I'm still amazed and disappointed at how many people choose to accept ridiculous claims of numbers that change by the hour as fact without any substantiation whatsoever. I err— Trump's charts and Sharpie and occasional sheets of paper "receipts" that no one ever sees are presented by him as "fact" and accepted by MAGAs as "facts". Their "research" never goes any deeper than FAUX News, which isn't a news program at all according to Murdoch.
Trump won because his campaign pandered to haters of democracy, because he continuously made impossible campaign promises which he has continually ignored or walked back. He, along with Musk, have wreaked havoc on those aren't rich white Americans. Yes his administrations stand in start contrast to Biden's. Even as this administration tramples the legal rights of people under the Constitution, MAGAs support him. Only a few have realized that his actions have only benefitted him and a small circle billionaires. He plays golf with Democracy burns, under his orders. Orders with are often illegal under the Constitution.
Democrats were busy arguing amongst themselves, assuming after his first run at (not for) Democracy, he wouldn't win a second term. Others wanted to "make a statement" that they didn't find either choice acceptable. Everyone who didn't vote for Harris is responsible for the greed, hate and malice that passes for a Presidential administration. Trump has lied all his life. Criminality has been a way of life for him, and holding the highest office in the land hasn't tempered his ego nor instilled any sense of dignity or honor.
That this behavior is acceptable by so many would be surprising, until you examine what's important to his supporters. We are seeing the deliberate eroding of a government of the people, by the people and for the people. MAGAs and Republicans are all too happy to overlook all criminal, illegal, and unethical actions of Trump and his minions.
So can anyone be surprised that his ignorance of tariffs and trade deficits caused all of this chaos? Chaos has been weaponized by Republicans. When he walks back his folly and calls it victory, Republicans cheer. Trump claims 150 or 200 countries (depending on the time of day) are begging to cut deals with the US. But he doesn't name any. MAGAs just accept it.
Some of us have never trusted Trump. Nobody ever should. Roll over and accept it? No fucking way. Not as long as it's still legal to vote. For now.
